Thanks for doing what you did. You'll stand tall in your new place. For what we have lost another has gained. Deepest sympathy to your family, friends and co-workers.
I recently recieved the e-mail listed below and I believe
that it is fittinf to share with you all.....
The Final Inspection The policeman stood and faced his God, Which must always come to pass. He hoped his shoes were shining. Just as brightly as his brass. Step forward now, policeman. How shall I deal with you? Have you always turned the other cheek? To My church have you been true? The policeman squared his shoulders and said, No, Lord, I guess I ain't, Because those of us who carry badges can't always be a saint. I've had to work most Sundays, and at times my talk was rough, and sometimes I've been violent, Because the streets are awfully tough. But I never took a penny, That wasn't mine to keep. Though I worked a lot of overtime When the bills got just too steep. And I never passed a cry for help, Though at times I shook with fear. And sometimes, God forgive me, I've wept unmanly tears. I know I don't deserve a place Among the people here. They never wanted me around Except to calm their fear. If you've a place for me here, Lord, It needn't be so grand. I never expected or had too much, But if you don't I'll understand. There was silence all around the throne Where the saints had often trod. As the policeman waited quietly, For the judgment of his God. "Step forward now, policeman, You've borne your burdens well. Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets, You've done your time in **** We will take it from here brother in blue. Your watch has ended but ours will go on.

Koz-
Thank you for your selfless service to our community. You are truly a hero and an inspiration to us all. As a fellow officer and citizen of the City of Grand Rapids, I cannot begin to thank you for the sacrifice made by you and your family. I will never forget you.
As we prepare to send you to your final rest on Friday I hold Kailey, Mandi, your mom and dad, your brothers and sisters, other members of the Kozminski family, and your brothers and sisters at GRPD in my thoughts and prayers.
May God grant us all the strength to get through this difficult time and continue on in your memory. Rest in peace my brother in blue for your journey here on earth may be done but your place in heaven is sealed forever. God bless you.

There are many heroes in this generation. Some serve overseas in the military, and some serve at home. The Kozminski family has sons in both professions. There is no greater service than risking one's life for the safety of others, and no greater sacrifice than losing it in the line of duty. God bless the Kozminski Family.

I was shocked and deeply saddened when I learned about Officer Kozminski's death while at work on Sunday. Every night when I put my own two and half year old son to bed part of our prayers include: "God bless all the policemen, firemen, and soldiers who keep us safe. Dear Jesus, if you should call one of them home tonight, give them eternal peace and grant their family the strength and courage to carry on." On Saturday night when my son went to bed, we unknowingly prayed for Officer Kozminski.
God Bless officer Kozminski, his parents, the rest of his family, his friends, the GRPD and ESPECIALLY his daughter because her world has been devastated. I'm sure "Koz's" friends and fellow officers will not forget about his daughter and they will be there for her through the years as she grows up. Her daddy is gone and she will need people to be there for her and to always tell her what a great man her daddy was and how much he loved her.
Rest easy Officer Kozminski, we have the watch.
