A coward dies a thousand deaths, a hero dies but once. Courage, honor, duty, sacrifice, you exemplify all that a police officer should be. Peace be with you.

Officer Kozminski, Kailey, Mr. & Mrs. Kozminski and those close to your heart, thank you for the ultimate sacrifice you have made to make the world a safer and better place. There is only One other who was willing to die so that I and my loved ones may live, and I know He welcomed you with loving arms.

I am in constant and humbled awe of officers everywhere who are willing to get up every day knowing the dangers they face; who are willing to die to preserve what is good and right, who are dedicated to the safety and life of every single person in their community, although unknown. Thank you, as if it were ever enough, that because of your life, others have been spared. I have heard the heavy words and seen the tears of your comrades; they will remain in their hearts forever, as will you.

With my prayers and the utmost respect and gratitude to you and all of the Grand Rapids Police Department, and above all else, my heartfelt appreciation.

It seems that we are losing offiers right and left these days. I will never be able to fully understand the loss that this Man's little girl will have to endure for the rest of her life. We lost an officer a few years ago and the hurt is still their. I know his Daughters still want their daddy back. I hope everyone around the country works to keep these men and women's memory alive with the sacrafices that they made so that we can all sleep at night. Rest in Peace Officer Kozminski.

Our hearts go out to the GRPD and their dispatchers. We go to work every day to help serve and protect the public and we are so thankful for officers like Bobby Kozminski who work so hard through such challenges. Losing an officer is something we all pray never happens.

Prayers are being lifted for your family, friends, co-workers and all those whose lives you helped and would have helped in your career.

It takes a special man to walk the steps you did, rest in peace.

I just got back from your visitation. Hearing your mom cry was almost too much for me to bear. I am angry that this has happened to you, your family and the Grand Rapids Police Department. I remember running into you at the jail on midnights, and you always had a smile on your face. I know that you and Kevin Marshall (MSP-Newaygo e.o.w. 07-07-03) are patrolling the streets of heaven and telling war stories. You will be missed.

My mother was a "greeter" at St. Anthony's Catholic Church before her death 7 years ago, and also is buried at Holy Cross Cemetary. I'm sure she "greeted Koz" into heaven and is proud to share her final resting place with such a fine young man. To say "thank you" for your ultimate sacrifice just doesn't seem like enough. Rest in peace.

Tribute To A Brother

My brother died today.
I've never met him.
Never even heard his name until
the news announced it this afternoon.

My brother died a hero's death,
in a hail of gunfire.

I've never met his family.
I heard on the news that he has a young
child and leaves behind a family asking why.

My brother was murdered.
Cut down in the prime of his life,
midway through his career.

I was working at the family
job when I heard the news.
My brother was working the family
job as well, when his life was cut short.

Shots rang out, and members of my own
family were unfortunate enough to witness
some of the terrible action.

My brother was murdered simply because
he was a cop trying to do his job,
serving the community in which I live.

Other heroes worked ceaselessly
to save his life, but to no avail.
He was in the hands of God before
those human hands left his form.

My brother is my brother because he wore a badge.
My badge is now adorned in the black band of mourning
that I have worn too many times,
grieving for other brothers and sisters
that have made the supreme sacrifice.

My brother's name will be inscribed in "the wall."
His last act will always be remembered by everyone.

The first time I shall ever see my brother's face
will be as we prepare to honor him a few days hence.
He will be borne along and laid to rest
with the highest of honors.

My brother's badge was slightly
different than my own.
Different town. Same job.
Different title. Same family.

My brother died today,
and a little of me died with him.
A little of my community died with him.
A little bit of America died with him.

Sometimes we are at a loss of words when it comes to leaving a reflection but being the men and woman of law enforcement we always find a way to express our feelings.

Today we mourn the loss of Officer Kozminiski one of our brothers, a member for the few the proud and the dedicated. He paid the ultimate sacrifice so that others may live. So today we shed a tear snap a salute and say a prayer for our brother.

We ask God to bless and give his family and our brothers and sisters of the Grand Rapids Police Department the strength to carry one.

Rest in Peace my brother for we shall all walk that beat together again.

I would like to leave a special reflection for Officer Kaminskis' girlfriend Mandi. You have to be a really strong person to be in love with a police officer, it is always in the back of your mind that something could happen, I am so sorry for your loss, you have a long road ahead of you and it will not be easy, but I want you to know that we are praying for you and thinking of you. There is nothing that can be done or said to heal you or give back what is taken from you and I am so sorry. I will pray for you and his family and friends. God Bless You all.

I would like to leave this special message to Officer Kaminskis' girlfriend, I know with all that is going on sometimes the girlfriend gets over looked even though you were a constant in his everyday life and in his home. I am praying for you and am so sorry for your loss and the emptiness it has left in your life. You were obviously so very special to Bobby, and he would want you to have support and prayers. It takes a strong person to love a Police Officer knowing that everyday they go to work they may not come home and you have endured that horrible event. You need to continue to be strong, you have a long road ahead of you, just know that you have people praying for you and thinking of you =o)
God bless you and all of Officer Kaminskis' family and friends.

It really pains me when I see such a young and vibrant officer get killed in the line of duty. What a needless way to die, at the hand of a madman. I have a son in Afghanistan who is in danger every day, so my heart really goes out to his family, especially his little daughter. May God keep them in His care and comfort them.

God Bless Off. Kozminski. After reading his memorial pages, it is easy to see that he created more memories with people who loved him than most do in an entire lifetime. Those are the memories that keep him alive. Having experienced the loss of our officer, I offer my prayers for you during this time and in the days ahead. May peace be with you.
