My condolences go out to the Kozminski family. It is sad that people who put their lives on the line every day can be killed by such a cowardly person as he lies in wait to snipe someone who is there to help that very person's family.
I did not know Officer Kozminski, but by the sounds of it he was doing what we all do every day. None of us know when these situations are going to happen, which makes it even more sad when they do. Robert Kozminski can now protect his fellow officers from above.
As an officer who is 29 years old and has just short of seven years, this hits home for me and makes me renew my vigilance to make sure the officers I work with are all kept safe.
Again, God Bless Officer Kozminski, his daughter, his family, the GRPD and every other officer on such a sad day.

With heartfelt sympathy for the loss of GRPD Officer Robert Kozminski. It was very difficult hearing of a GRPD officer's death this morning and a flashback of the killing of GRPD Officer joseph Taylor's killing in the mid 1980's. That day is still a vivid part of my memory, since as a street supervisor that was my husband's (Sgt. Raymond Edwards) area and call. As a mom of a current GRPD officer (Robert Mercier), his safety concern is always on my mind. For the family and friends of GRPD Officer Robert Kozminski and the extended family fo the Thin Blue Line, you all are in our thoughts and prayers. God bless you always.
