Reflections for Police Officer Dayle Weston "Wes" Hardy

Wes, may you rest in peace, knowing that your family will be taken care of, almost as well as you could have. Your girls will know what an amazing man, father, and husband you were, and your wife will never forget you! Keep watch over your brothers and sisters now, as they continue to carry on your legacy. You will be missed, but never forgotten.

My prayers go out to your wife and twin daughters. Also to your family, friends, fellow brother and sister officers, entire department, and to the citizens that you gave the ultimate sacrifice for in protecting and serving. "A Hero does not become a Hero by their death, but by how they lived their life."We recently lost a young officer from our police department. That is how I found this site. As a dispatcher, "my" officers' safe return at the end of each shift, is what makes my day or night a success. I know that angel wings have taken you to the heavens above where God has you 10-4 forever in his loving care. God Bless!

I met Wes at a continuing education class over a year ago. He was very upbeat and funny. I know that his brothers and sisters in the Plano Police Department will feel a loss.

To Wes' family, he died doing what he loved. Know that the police community will never forget you or your family.

The following is a Fallen Officer's Prayer that was found while a Pueblo Police Officer visited the N.Y.P.D. Museum & Ground Zero in 2005 Officer's Prayer

Fallen Officer’s Prayer

I Never Dreamed It Would Be Me.
My Name For All Eternity.
Recorded Here At This Hallowed Place.
Alas, My Name, No More My Face.
'In The Line of Duty' I Hear Them Say.
My Family Now The Price To Pay.
My Folded Flag Stained With Their
Tears.
We Only Had Those Few Short Years.
The Badge No Longer On My Chest.
I Sleep Now In Eternal Rest.
My Sword I Pass To Those Behind And
Pray They Keep This Thought In Mind.
I Never Dreamed It Would Be Me.
And With A Heavy Heart And Bended
Knee, I Ask For All Here From The
Past...
Dear God, Let My Name Be The Last.
This is to all who knew Officer Hardy, and the lives he has touched.
We will keep him in our hearts and prayers, also to his family. He will never be forgotten. LOVE TO ALL AND GOD BLESS YOU ALL
