Reflections for Police Officer Dayle Weston "Wes" Hardy
My heart sank when I heard the news of your tragedy, Wes. Although we never actually worked on the same shift, I recall we often crossed paths, and I always admired your pleasant and professional demeanor.
As your fellow coworker, I will miss you. But I know God has a special place for you next to Him. You can rest now, my brother. Know that you will not be forgotten.

My husband, David Hughes attended the academy with Wes in 1996 at TCJC, and was a motor officer. I have been an officer for 12 years, and have read many articles and watched many news coverages on in the line of duty deaths. It brings it so much closer to home when someone you knew or your loved one knew that just worked their last tour of duty. I did not have the pleasure of meeting Wes personally, but David speaks highly of him. We as officers sign up for a life that our families do not, but they love us just the same. We see and do the unmentionable, with very few, if any thanks. I want to thank Wes, his family, and his family in blue. All are in my prayers and heart!

I was in the PD when the call came through. Please know that each person that came in and that was a lot, knew what a gem they lost. Please rest - the rest you deserve from serving us - and know that your family will be taken care of. I know this because I know the Plano Police Department take care of their own - and even those of others. I've never seen this before and hope you know how many people love you. I hear it everyday. Take your rest...God is waiting for you.

Mrs. Hardy-
It is with great sadness that I write here on the ODMP today. I am so sorry about the loss of your husband and your children's father. It all hits so close to home. I too lost my husband and my childrens father a year and a half ago here in Fort Worth, Texas. I have felt everything that you are feeling right now. I would love to meet you when you are ready. There are a lot of good support groups for those of us who lost spouses in the line of duty I would love to share that with you. Please if you ever need anything ever contact me.
I know it is hard to see right now but we are all SURVIVOR'S. Though this journey is one we wished we didn't have to take but one that has been put in front of us. Your husband would want you to keep living life to the fullest for those two precious girls and yourself.
With love and admiration,
Teresa Nava
Widow of Henry

We only worked a few miles apart, I am sorry to say I never met you. Rest now and we will take it from here, I and the others will meet you on Heven's streets. There are no words that can take the loss and hurt away from the family or his fellow officers, I can only say that I feel for you. God Bless

Dale was always fun to be around. Everyday I remember something else about a call or a class I had with him. I know he is in heaven and will continue to watch over his brothers and sisters here still in service. Dale, rest assured that we will take care of your family. Thank you for your service.
