JOSH,
I UNDERSTAND YOUR FAMILY'S PAIN BECAUSE I HAVE LOST MY OWN MOTHER, AND NOW I KNOW HOW IT FEELS TO LOSE A BROTHER. WE DID IT JOSH....GRADUATED THE ACADEMY.....SERVED OUR TIME IN THE JAIL....AND FINALLY GOT CUT LOOSE, AND GOT OUR OWN UNITS. I REMEMBER THE DAYS IN THE ACADEMY WE ALL JUST WANTED TO GET OUT THERE AND BE POLICE OFFICERS....WE DID IT BROTHER.......YOU DID IT!!! ILL NEVER FORGET PICKING ON YOU OUR LITTLE "CHUCK" NORRIS...FIGHTING WITH YOU OVER WHO WAS GOING TO GET TASERED FIRST. LITTLE CHUCK YOU HAD THE HEART OF A GIANT. I PRAY THAT GOD CAN EASE EVERYONE'S PAIN, YOU TOUCHED SO MANY IN SUCH A SHORT TIME. YOU DID IT JOSH...YOU EVEN PAID THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE,AND I PROMISE NO ONE WILL FORGET IT. YOUR A HERO IN MY EYES, AND ALTHOUGH IT HURTS YOUR WHERE HERO'S BELONG.....WALKING A BEAT IN HEAVEN. MAY GOD EASE YOUR FAMILY'S PAIN AND HELP THEM THROUGH THESE HARD TIMES. GET A PLACE READY FOR US UP THERE, BECAUSE WE WILL MET AGAIN. REST IN PEACE BROTHER.

Working as a Dispatcher, we don't usually have a face to go with the voice & JP number we talk to everday. Well, JP276, Josh, I feel I was honored to have met you. It is so ironic that less than a month ago you got into your first 108, I was joking with you about being tough. Well, not only do i think your tough, but a hero. A promising officer's life cut tragically short. Please know that you will not be forgotten. On behalf of everyone at the Communications Center, I send my condolences to his family. We will keep you in our prayers & close to our hearts.

My prayers go out to your fiance, family, friends, and fellow brother and sister officers. Also to the citizens that you gave the ultimate sacrifice for in serving and protecting. As a dispatcher all I pray for each shift I work, is the safe return of "my" officers. This breaks my heart, another senseless death. "A Hero does not become a Hero by their death, but by how they lived their life."I know that Angels have carried you into the heavens above where God has you 10-4 forever in his care. God Bless!

I AM A WARRIOR
by Jon F. Hooper

I fight not for glory or fame,
For they are momentary.
I fight for those who can't.
I fight for Justice.
I fight for the oppressed and the down trodden.
And if I should lose my life for these just causes, then I have no regrets,
For I serve to protect the innocent.
It matters not where or when,
For evil knows no boundaries.
Be it fire, flood, or the threat of tyranny,
I will not flee.
Justice is my weapon.
Faith is my shield.
Hope is my armor.
Cry not at my passing,
For it was my Honor to fight for you.
Shed not tears of sorrow,
But tears of joy,
For now,
I stand with God.

"It's remarkable. When one falls, they just keep going until the job is done. They refuse to stop and show their feelings. But when its all over, these same men and women come from all around. Places you've never heard of. They even manage to smile, though the tears are hanging off their cheeks. Many had never met before but they still called eachother names like brother and friend. It's like they'd known eachother for years. They're the closest group of strangers I ever met.... like one big family"

-Janice Soulette

Rest in peace Joshua. Our sincere thoughts and prayers are with you, your family and fellow officers. Your brother and sister deputies to the north will never allow you to be forgotten.

Saint Michael, heaven's glorious commissioner of police, who once so neatly and successfully cleared God's premisesof all its undesirables, look with kindly and professionaleyes on your earthly force.

Give us cool heads, stout hearts, and uncanny flair for investigation and wise judgment.

Make us the terror of burglars, the friend of children and law-abiding citizens, kind to strangers, polite to bores, strict with law-breakers and impervious to temptations.

You know, Saint Michael, from your own experiences with the devil, that the police officer's lot on earth is not always a happy one; but your sense of duty that so pleased God, your hard knocks that so surprised the devil, and your angelic self-control give us inspiration.

And when we lay down our night sticks, enroll us in your heavenly force, where we will be as proud to guard the throne of God as we have been to guard the city of all the people. Amen.
