My thoughts are with your loved ones during this very difficult time. Such a senseless act committed by a coward that has changed the lives of so many people forever. To the family of Deputy Sheriff Michael Page, my heart aches for you all. As the mother of the last fallen officer in 2006 (SFPD Officer Bryan Tuvera), I can attest to the pain and anguish ahead for you all. Having your loved one killed at the hands of a criminal in that manner is the utmost tragedy that anyone will ever have to endure. Although having the suspect commit suicide is a blessing so you will not have to go through a trial, the thought of "WHY he had to take down your loved one before he took his life will NEVER be answered. My son was shot in the face by an escaped felon who was mis-placed in a fire camp. The suspect also committed suicide. My son had been married for only 2 months. He was just beginning his life, just like Michael was. As I have been told countless times the the COPS organization, you will never heal. The pain subsides, but will always be there. It has been 6 months since my son died (Dec. 23, 2006), and unfortunately, I still can barely get through a day. May all of you receive comfort from each other and know that all of us "SURVIVORS" are here for you. Remember, it is not how he died that made him a hereo, it is how he lived that made him a hero. God Bless you all.

Sandy Tuvera
mother of a fallen officer

Michael's Family: Each day that Michael came to our office, he always made me smile and forget about the problems of the moment. Listening to him talk about his family made me appreciate mine even more. I know that he loved you very much. Law enforcement has lost a giant of a man.
