Thinking about you brother. I remember the times we would be hang out at track meets during and after our field events at LE. We both grew up went our separate ways after high school but reconnected at Bi-State in the jail one afternoon. I was happy to see you and was excited you were wanting to work as a police officer which I supported your idea to apply. Even though we work with different police departments you in Texas and me in Arkansas I still felt I had a good friend. I can proudly say you and I a part of the Liberty-Eylau class of 91 "Another Bad Class (ABC)" . Since 07 I have change careers and I now teach criminal justice to college students and I share what friendship is before, during and after the badge. To your family please know that I pray for them also that your kids know their farther is a true hero who I will never forget.

Prior to his law enforcement career, I had the opportunity to work with Mike at Evergreen Life Services. It was there that he provided people with intellectual and developmental disabilities an opportunity for a better life. He was an angel on earth. I am so thankful our paths crossed.

We think all the time about our men and women in uniform and when they are killed doing their job we are sad and say , “ doing their job to many are being killed , we need to get out of this war “, because we can get out of this or that war . We thank them for thier service when we see them now . “ We didn’t used to “ . But we all seem to forget . We have men and women every day that go in harms way and we do not thank them for thier service . They too are in a war , but they can’t get out of this war. This war is a daily war that will go on forever . It is the war of good against evil. They are the only ones between you and I against criminals that are out to cause us harm . Thank you sir.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 5th anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace
I pray for the solace of all those that love and remember you for I know both the pain and pride are forever.

TODAY, 08-22-10, I MET MICHAEL PAGES SISTER. OVER THREE YEARS AFTER MICHAELS DEATH, IT IS CLEAR THAT THIS TRAGEDY WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN, AND THE HEARTBREAK THAT IT LEFT BEHIND WILL ENDURE FOREVER. FROM MY TALK WITH MICHAELS SISTER, TRACY, I GOT THE PICTURE OF A DEDICATED OFFICER WITH THE HEART, THE SKILLS, AND THE COURAGE NEEDED TO CARRY HIM THRU A GREAT CAREER....BUT SOMETIMES THESE TRAGEDYS HAPPEN REGUARDLESS...AND ARE TOTALLY OUT OF OUR CONTROL...I HAVE BEEN TO ENOUGH FUNERALS IN 30 YEARS TO KNOW THAT. MY CONDOLENCES TO MICHAELS FAMILY AND LOVED ONES...GOD BLESS. KEN MACARTHUR -- RETIRED KING COUNTY PD

I met Michael in college and remember him as a great guy. I remember when he got out of the Army, he came to see me at work and I saw how he had grown from a boy to a man. Although it had been years since I had seen him, I had actually just thought of him 2 days before the accident. Michael's death was a great tragedy for those who knew him, but an even greater loss for those who had never met him.

I met your family for the first time at National Police Week in D.C. We were there to honor my brother (Officer Andrew Esparza E.O.W 4-13-07) who went to heaven a couple months before you did. Catherine and Max are amazing children and really touched my heart! I think of them and pray for them often! My family and I can't talk about police week or the Austin trip with out talking about Max and Catherine. I felt an instant bond with your sisters that I will never be able to explain. I guess it was the fact that they knew exactly how I felt. I just wanted to thank you for your service and let you know that you have a wonderful family!
