My thoughts and prayers are with you, your family, and your coworkers during these trying times. May God watch over all of them and keep them safe. Shame on that motorcyclist for pulling such a stupid stunt that led to your death. It seems as if the people on the sport bikes now are driving worse and becoming far more dangerous to others. We've had several fatal accidents lately in MD involving them. I am sorry that this accident took you instead of the clueless motorcyclist who was pulling such dangerous stunts. Thank you for your time served on this earth and for trying to stop this dangerous driver from hurting someone else. Godspeed Deputy Cook.

My heart breaks for another young child left without a father and another wife left without her love. We in law enforcement accept the risks of our profession, but it is our family and friends who are left with the permanant void if our life is lost in the line of duty.
I pray that Deputy Cook's friends and fellow officers look out for his son not only in the weeks and months to come, but the YEARS to come. His Daddy is gone and he will need good men to do the things with him that his Dad would have, but now is not able. Help teach him to play baseball, ride a bike, take him fishing and the list goes on and on.
Every night when I put my own 2 year old son to bed, part of our prayers are: "God bless all of the policemen, firemen, and soldiers who keep us safe. Dear Jesus, if should call one of them home tonight, give them eternal peace and grant their family the strength and courage to carry on. Amen." We prayed for Deputy Cook and his family on two different nights this past week.
May Deputy Cook rest in eternal peace and my God bless especially his son, wife, the rest of his family and his Buchanan County Sheriff's Department family.
