What can really be said at a time like this? Sgt Anderson didn't do his job to be a Hero. Very few do it for that reason. He did it because he knew helping others is a calling. Not in the sense of religion but in the Sense of help others. Defending the weak. Thats why he did and all of us do it. We'll never be rich but by god it's an honest living and one we can all look back on with pride. 10-42 Sgt now go and rest.

I could rant and rave about the mission, vision and values of our noble profession, but what good would that do? I could spout a bunch of bull about loss sacrifice, but I'm still sucking air; I've sacrificed nothing. But I do know what it feels like to lose somebody you love. My families' heart goes out to the family of Officer Anderson. Peace will come to you soon. Don't be strong; don't be afraid to cry; don't feel guilty about the things left unsaid. May you walk with God.

Thank you Officer Stephen Anderson for the dedication that you gave to your job, Many states and communities do not get to see exacly what our job as corrections officers are but hopefully your death will open some of the eyes of the ones who seem to forget about corrections until a tragedy strikes and you will not have died in vain.

We wil miss you, my prayers go out to you and your family, I am not sure of the author but this poem stands for all of us. RIP

The Corrections Officer stood and faced his God, which must always come to pass.

He hoped his shoes were shining, just as brightly as his brass.

"Step forward now, Corrections Officer. How shall I deal with you? Have you always turned the other cheek? To my church have you been true?"

The Corrections Officer squared his shoulders and said, "No, Lord I guess I ain't, because those of us who carry badges can't always be a Saint.
I've had to work most Sundays, and at times my work was rough, and sometimes I've been violent. Because inside the walls are awful tough.
But I never took a penny, that wasn't mine to keep, I worked a lot of overtime, when the bills just got too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help, though at times I shook with fear, and sometimes, God forgive me, I wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place among the people here.
They never wanted me around except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here, Lord, it needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much, but if you don't I will understand."

There was silence all around the Throne, where the Saints often trod. As the Corrections Officer waited quietly for the judgment of his God.

"Step forward now, Corrections Officer, you've borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets, you've done your time in Hell"
