Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Chief of Police Randy Lacy

It wasn't too long ago that Post 9 suffered a line of duty death--my thoughts and prayers are with Chief Lacy's family and friends, that they find comfort in the days that lay ahead. Remember, great strength comes from faith in God... Chief Lacy--rest in peace, you served Clay City well.

My sympathies to Chief Lacy's family and friends. He did not deserve to die as he did, assassinated by a drunk driving suspect. He tried to treat them with the respect they do not deserve all too often and for that he paid the supreme sacrifice.

God Bless him and his family.

Judging from what the news stories have said, the man who shot Chief Lacy was a friend whom Chief Lacy had helped with drug problems. We'll probably never really know how things transpired in that car, but we can all guarantee that the Chief was a loving man who believed that even criminals deserve second chances. It's just terrible that it had to turn out this way. God bless and rest in peace.

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.

Randy,

I remember you from our academy class (151) and when I first saw the news did not realize it was you. We lost touch after graduation but I knew you will still in your hometown area. You were always joking and cutting up and I don't know if you ever knew it but you made the academy more fun with your jokes. Although I have not seen you since graduation, you were and always will be my brother and you will be missed. You were a hero not for the way you died but for the way you lived your life. Rest in peace my brother

May looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow.

Chief Lacy could have been sitting in Florida having the good life, however he was on the job stopping crime from hurting my family and all of the Commonwealth. THANK YOU sir for all you have done. We will NOT stop the fight. It's time for you to rest. May the Lacy family find peace in GOD in the days to come.

You were a true leader of people and set the highest example. You led from the front and sacrificed your life doing a duty you proberly didn't have to do as Chief of Police.

Your sacrifice will not be forgotten. May you truly be at peace. You are now in that special place. We will continue from here.

Our thoughts and wishes are with your family friends and colleagues and I know your law enforcement colleagues the world over will mourn your passing.
