Reflections for Chief of Police Randy Lacy

The loss of Chief Lacy has greatly diminished our ranks, and has, once again, depicted how dangerous our profession can be. From the Orland Hills PD of Illinois, our deepest sympathies to the Chief's family, loved ones and his fellow officers. Our earnest prayer is that as The Lord tempers the wind to the shorn lamb, may He also temper with His comfort this loss to those who knew and loved the Chief. May he rest in peace.

For the family, friends and fellow officers of Chief Randy Lacy, please know we will be with you in prayer and thought.
We too know of the personal loss that you are experiencing.
Seventeen years ago a personal friend and fellow officer from Muncie Indiana was lost in a similar manor while transporting a handcuffed prisoner.
On this Friday, June 15th, he will be sent to his maker from the Indiana Justice System.
Seventeen years of trial, appeals and various delays, the person who took the life of Gregg Winters, a fine young officer, father and friend will finally pay the price for doing so.
We here in Indiana will morn the loss of Randy and give thanks for his life and service.
Blessed are the Peace Makers.

Chief Lacy and family, my thoughts and prayers are with you always. I truly believe that there’s a special place in Heaven for our kind. I was so unfortunate to never get the chance to meet you Chief, but someday I will when I’m called home. Lacy Family, keep the faith and remember that we will all meet again in a place where there is no pain or sorrow. You are not alone. Law enforcement family extends farther than you can imagine. We all are all brothers and sisters and our families are your families. Chief Lacy, may God bless your and your family, or should I say Our Family. My prayers are forever with you.

I am praying for Chief Lacy's friends, family, and coworkers. Words cannot express the depth of my emotion every time another officer loses his or her life doing the job that is so vital, yet seemingly so unappreciated. Thank you, Chief Lacy, for your years of service. Rest in peace.
