Reflections for Game Warden Teyran Micah "Ty" Patterson
To have lost your life on the very day set aside to honor the men and women to gave their lives in defense of our Country, gave me pause to pray you and for family. It is not how a person died that important, it is haw they lived. Rest in peace, TY and Thank-you for your service.

We had been to East Texas a couple weeks before we met Tye with our boat. We had somethings solen out of it. We thought we had replaced the important things! When we got home we wanted to go fishing. We went to Cleburne we were out there trying to catch some shad. Not having alot of luck when Tye came over. It was getting alittle windy so we anchored down. So it was easier to talk to him without our boats bumping. He asked to see our Life jackets not a problem, our fishing licenses, not a problem then he asked about a fire-extinguisher (now we have a problem) We tore the boat up looking for it. We never found it, it was stolen while we were in East Texas. Instead of giving us a ticket that we real couldn't afford at that time he made me promise that before the boat went back out on the water that I would get a fire-extinguisher. I did!!! He was a very very nice man and will be missed greatly!!!!!!!

Joe and ViAnn,
Even though I did not know "Ty" personally, I share in your loss as a native of Seguin, Texas. It saddens me to think that such a Young Man of his statue has been taken so early in life. I regret that I will not be able to be there for the Funeral Services. Know that you and your family will be in my prayers. I will drive with my lights on Monday in his Memory. May you somehow find some comfort in knowing you raised a young man that stood out amoung men.

WHEN MY BROTHER PASTED THIS TEXT BROUGHT SO MANY COMFORT, I PRAY IT DOES THE SAME FOR EVERYONE TY TOUCHED... TO THOSE I LOVE WHEN I AM GONE, RELEASE ME, LET ME GO. YOU HAVE SO MANY THINGS TO SEE AND DO. YOU MUSTN'T TIE YOURSELF TO ME WITH TEARS. BE HAPPY THAT WE HAD SO MANY YEARS. I GAVE YOU MY LOVE. YOU CAN ONLY GUESS HOW MUCH YOU GAVE ME IN HAPPINESS. I THANK YOU FOR THE LOVE YOU EACH HAVE SHOWN, BUT NOW IT'S TIME I TRAVELED ON ALONE. SO GRIEVE A WHILE FOR ME, IF GRIEVE YOU MUST. THEN LET YOUR GRIEF BE COMFORTED BY TRUST. IT'S ONLY A WHILE THAT WE MUST PART, SO BLESS THE MEMORIES WITHIN YOUR HEART. I WON'T BE FAR AWAY, FOR LIFE GOES ON. SO IF YOU NEED ME, CALL AND I WILL HEAR. THOUGH YOU CAN'T SEE OR TOUCH ME, I'LL BE NEAR...AND IF YOU LISTEN WITH YOUR HEART, YOU'LL HEAR ALL OF MY LOVE AROUND YOU SOFT AND CLEAR. AND THEN, WHEN YOU MUST COME THIS WAY ALONE, I'LL GREET YOU WITH A SMILE AND SAY "WELCOME HOME" ~AUTHOR UNKOWN~

Ty, you were a good man, a good family man and a good Game Warden. You were dedicated to duty and service to our communities. It is a huge loss for everybody, but there you were out in the water with your partner again helping people in distress. You gave your life brother, for your fellow man and God Hath No Greater Love, Than A Man Who Layeth Down His Life For Another.
Find peace with the angels of Heaven, and never stop looking down on all of us still here. We miss you...
God Bless the Patterson family, and all who serve in the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department.

Ty from the first day we met you on your first day on the job here in Johnson county you instantly worked your way into our hearts and home. We all loved you and will miss you terribly. I know your short time with me and Jerry and my 2 little boys will never be forgotten. The last time you were with us at the house you asked to hold Catcher(5 months old)one more time. Now I know why, it was so you could tell my Father, who passed before my boys were born about them. To your family I worry that words will never be able to express who you were to all you met, and who you were to us. We treasure your time with us, you were part of our family as well. Crawford (2yrs) will miss you dearly. Everyone else who plays with him by throwing him in the air got tired quick( Crawford weighs 50lbs) but not Ty, he and Crawford never got tired. It seems still so unreal that you will never come through our back door again. But we know we have another angel watching over us. Thanks for everything Ty you were a wonderful friend and person. Mr. and Mrs. Patterson, though we have not met yet, We feel as though we know you all. Ty loved his family and always spoke of you all, with his famous smile. Our thoughts and prayers are with you now more than ever. Jerry, Glenda, Crawford and Catcher Miller, Klondike Ranch-Rio Vista, TX
