After spending time with your family the past couple of days, I understand why you were so kind hearted and giving of yourself. I still am in shock and saddened that you have left us, but I know that you are in a better place. Most of our classmates got together the night before we laid you to rest, and thought back of the good times we had back in the academy together. You will be surely missed and I thank God that I had the opportunity to know you. Enjoy that new green truck in heaven and know that your family is being cared for by our fellow Game Warden brothers. Rest in peace Ty.

To the family, friends, and officers that knew Warden Patterson, my thoughts and prayers are with you as you face the trying times ahead of you. Please know your not alone.
Here I am, lost in the light of the moon that comes through my window
Bathed in blue, the walls of my memory divide the thorns from the roses
It's you and the roses
Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way when I see your eyes
Now I'm living in your afterglow
Here I am, lost in the ashes of time, but who wants tomorrow?
In between the longing to hold you again
I'm caught in your shadow, I'm losing control
My mind drifts away, we only have today
Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way
I will sacrifice 'til the blinding day when I see your eyes
Now I'm living in your afterglow
When the veils are gone as I let you go, as I let you go
Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way, I will sacrifice
Now I'm living in your afterglow
Bathed in blue, the walls of my memory divide the thorns from the roses
It's you who is closest

Ty was such a great person to be around. He always had a smile on his face...which put a smile on mine. Calling him at 3am to take a call is going to be something that all of us dispatchers miss. We attended Tys ceremony today and all of us from Johnson County were so impressed. God needed Ty to protect the streets of heaven...and look down on all of us. Thank you Mr and Mrs Patterson for allowing myself and Johnson County to be blessed with the presence of your wonderful son. Youre family will always be part of our family. His spirit will shine in our county for eternity!

Ty was one of the most amazing men I have ever had the opportunity to meet. He had the heart of gold and a smile to that went on for days. He will be greatly missed.
My thoughts and prayers are with the Patterson family as we find solitude knowing that he is watching over us now.
God Bless you all.

To the Patterson Family, I attended your beloved son's services on behalf of the South Texas "COPS" (Concern's of Police Survivors)and met you very briefly. I have to say the services were very moving and know that Tyran would be ever so proud for the Celebration of his life you threw. I didn't know him personally, but from what I saw and heard he is one person I wished I would have had the honor to meet. May Our Heavenly Father continue to hold you, your family, co-workers and all those in Law Enforcement in the Palm of His Hands.
