I am saddened to learn of your line of duty death at the hands of a murderous coward.
I was in Cleveland just last weekend for the Greater Cleveland Peace Officers Memorial with brother and sister officers from Canada. The depth of your sacrifice knows no borders.
The citizens of Cleveland Heights were fortunate to have you in service to their community. My thoughts and prayers are with your family and colleagues as I hope they will receive comfort in knowing your sacrifice will not be forgotten.

This is one of the biggest shocks to me and everyone in the little town of Avon. I can remember so much about him even though I haven't seen him in a few years. I remember in High School how much he used to love playing baseball for Coach Eaton, god how he loved the game. My heart goes out to ALL of the family members and friends of this young man that was taken from us entirely too early in life. You will be missed Jason and NEVER forgotten. God Bless.

GOD BLESS THIS FALLEN HERO AND HIS FAMILY. MAY GOD HELP HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS THROUGH THIS TRYING TIME. THIS IS JUST ANOTHER CASE OF WHERE THE JUDICIAL SYSTEM IN THE UNITED STATES HAS FAILED ALL OF US THAT CALL OURSELVES POLICE OFFICERS OR SHERIFF DEPUTIES. THIS GUY SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN ALLOWED TO GO BACK OUT ON THE STREET. MAYBE ONE DAY THE CLUELESS PEOPLE IN CHARGE WILL FINALLY OPEN THEIR EYES TO THE REAL WORLD !!! RIP FALLEN HERO..

Thank you Officer West for the sacrifice you have given. Few know the line of work that law enforcement is involved with. Many are confused and ignorant to the dangers that law enforcement face everyday; all around the country. I pray for you, your family, and the department in which you worked for a sensless act like this took a fine officer of the law. Look after your fellow brothers in blue and the new young breed of law enforcement from above!

We will never forget those who are no longer with us. Those who gave their all and made the ultimate sacrifice in the Line of Duty. As we cover our badges in black and lower the United States flag to half staff we will remember your sacrifice and the sacrifices of those before you.
Each year we lose countless brothers and sisters in the Line of Duty. And each time another hero lays down their life we pray that it will be the last. But, alas here we are again greiving the loss of yet another hero. Another name which will be soon added to the National Peace Officer's Memorial in Washington D.C. Another life cut short while protecting the rights and freedoms of others.
It is with a heavy heart and great sadeness that we must continue the fight. But, continue we will and prevail we must.In the coming days in communites all across this great land we will honor our fallen brother by continuing his work.
May God Bless the men and women of the Cleveland Heights Police Department, and the family of Officer Jason West.

On behalf of the Tampa Police Department we send our heartfelt condolences. I was informed of this incident by a friend of Officer West, Officer Jesse Madsen. As I check this site daily, I continue to hope that I will not see another name. This site is a constant reminder of the heroic acts that Officers make everyday as well the great dangers that they face while doing so.
Officer West, you are a true warrior. Your act of bravery shows your devotion to the oath you took. Your loss leaves a void with your fellow "brothers and sisters" throughout this country. Your sacrifice will not be forgotten.
To your family, friends and fellow Officers, you are most important to him and he will continue to watch out for you from above. God Bless you all...
