Family, Friends & Fellow Officers Remember...

As a person who is about to be a sworn officer in 5 weeks and who grew up and was born in Cleveland Heights this strikes me particularly hard. Police officers are put in situations few people on this earth want to or could handle. I offer my condolences to the city, the family, and the fellow CHPD officers, as my uncle served on the department for many years as a detective. Rest in Peace Ofc. West, we will always miss you for the person that you were and what you stood for, but what we will really miss you is for what you did for others without being asked to do it. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. My nephew is an officer in another Cleveland area. Police fight the war evey day. The war on society. The men and women who fight this war day in and day out are to be highly commended. Please know there ae alot of prayers going out to you during your time of grief and that your son/brother/cousin whatever, didn't die in vain. He DID save someone else.

Officer West your death breaks my heart. I cannot stop crying. This is not suppose to happen in my community and to any member of the Cleveland Hts Police force. Your death is so tragic. I will not forget you.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this very sad time. I can truthfully say that when an officer is killed, every department mourns with you. Brave, Selfless, Caring, Admirable, are words that come to mind for anyone in this field. To do this job, you have to have those attributes, and I know Officer West did. My prayers are for peace, healing and forgiveness. Sadly, I wish I could guarantee that no one ever had to walk this path again, but as we know, these special people continue to fight for our safety and put their lives on the line every day. May peace and love find a place in your heart, and may Jason always be remembered as the amazing person he was and is.
