Reflections for Officer Jason West
One month ago you answered the call. That one last call. Why did it have to happen? The world was robbed of your greatness, and it just isn't right. I miss you so much. I hope you are resting peacefully and I pray that fond memories are easing the pain of everyone who loves you.
Your memory lives on as a blessing in my heart.

Thank you so much for your service to the public. You will be remembered as a hero for eternity.
As a wife of an LEO, I know all too well how so many people are quick to forget the sacrifices LEOs make. WE WILL NEVER FORGET WHAT YOU HAVE DONE. Thank you to your family for sharing you with us. May they find peace.

Jason-
I remember one of the first accidents i had to do, you stopped to help with. I don't even think you were working yet, but on your way to 4pm roll call. you stopped in front of walmart as i was taking everyone's information and you asked if i needed any help. you even gave me the ord. code for the citation for the party to be cited, without even having to open the city ord. book. The hand cuff cases i carry i bought only because you had the same ones and i liked them so much. You rubbed off on me. I admire you and you will never be forgotten by any of us. You sacraficed your safety on a daily basis for the safety of others. Rest in peace.

The last and only time I saw Jason was at a wedding. He was my brother's best man. I was very young at the time but I do remember his smile. He was such a bright, warm, and happy young man and it was completely contagious. Im saddened that this had to happen to such a wonderful person. I will always remember him as a hero.
Rest In Peace Jason!
Sad to see you go...

Memories Keep Those We Love Close to Us Forever
Although words seem to say so little,
I hope they help in some small way to ease the sense of loss that your're experiencing today.
Hold fast to your memories,
to all of the cherished moments of past,
to the blessings and the laughter,
the joys and the celebrations,
the sorrow and the tears.
They all add up to a treasure
of fond yesterdays
that you shared and spent together,
and they keep the one you loved
close to you in spirit and thought.
The special moments and memories in your life
will never change.
They will always be in your heart,
today and forevermore.

I admire you Jason. You made the decision to pursue a job that many of us feel the calling for, but decided not to because of the low pay, or expectations of family and friends. May your memory be eternal my bother, and may you finally feel the comfort in GOD's embrace.
NOW IN HEAVEN
The policeman stood and faced God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining,
Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, policeman.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To my church have you been true?"
The policeman squared his shoulders and said,
"No lord, I guess I ain't,
Because those of us who carry a badge
can't always be a saint."
I've had to work most Sundays,
and at times my talk was rough,
and sometimes I've been violent,
Because the streets are awfully tough.
But I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at time I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here, Lord,
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't I'll understand.
There was a silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod.
As the policeman waited quietly,
For the judgement of his god.
"Step forward now, policeman,
You've born your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in hell"

It's such a shame to hear a tragedy like this happened to people who just wanted to make this world a safer place. You've served your country well. I beg God for forgiveness for all the sinful things people could do to each other. May your spirit fly free.

To the family, friends, and officers that knew Officer West, my thoughts and prayers are with you as you face the trying times ahead of you. Please know your not alone.
Here I am, lost in the light of the moon that comes through my window
Bathed in blue, the walls of my memory divide the thorns from the roses
It's you and the roses
Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way when I see your eyes
Now I'm living in your afterglow
Here I am, lost in the ashes of time, but who wants tomorrow?
In between the longing to hold you again
I'm caught in your shadow, I'm losing control
My mind drifts away, we only have today
Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way
I will sacrifice 'til the blinding day when I see your eyes
Now I'm living in your afterglow
When the veils are gone as I let you go, as I let you go
Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way, I will sacrifice
Now I'm living in your afterglow
Bathed in blue, the walls of my memory divide the thorns from the roses
It's you who is closest

Jason and I went to Tiffin University together. Jason was always dertermined to get his Criminal Justice degree and become a Police Officer. We had great times together in college. He would always make time for me when I came back into Cleveland to catch up on things and remember the good old days of college. You will be missed my friend.

Jason -
I can't believe you have been gone for only 10 days because each day you aren't here seems like an eternity. My cell phone is silent without your texts. My heart aches to hear from you again, to see you again, to touch you again. Even just one more time. I hope you have been looking down from your new home with God to see the loving tribute that has been paid to you. You touched more lives than you knew, and the world is a better place because you were in it. Godspeed friend, and rest in peace.
