Like other reflections stated, we have entered a new era of law enforcement where the suspects are ruthless, cowardly, cold, and have no remorse! They are like animals and attack us, whereas they used to try and escape. Thank you, sir, for such a long and dedicated career!

To the family, friends and those who serve behind the badge of the State Constables Office of South Carolina:
State Constable Robert Lee Bailey is a true, American Hero. He depicts that which is good about those who serve in Law Enforcement and that which is still good in America.
May the God of all creation bring comfort and peace that surpasses all understanding to all those who knew and loved Constable Bailey, and our prayers are extended to all of the men and women of your Department as you grieve through this tremendous tragedy and loss of this very dedicated, brave and heroic man.

I am having trouble seeing the screen as I read the story of this fallen hero....clearly a lifelong love of serving as a soldier of the law. I live and minister near where President Lincoln had a long layover en route to dedicating the National Cemetery at Gettysburg to the memory of those "who gave their last full measure of devotion"; so let us, the living, dedicate ourselves to honoring Constable Bailey through maintaining the honor of the force.

Bob......I have sooooo many questions to why this happened....We both knew the danger.......You have been with me for 7 years, I think we became friends in spirit first even though we met as professionals. That long dark week I know you knew I would not rest..... leave the scene, searches til we found you......I promised Carmin and your family we would bring you home......I know you would want the fight to go on and never raise the white flag as we both faced dangers when we worked together......I know you will continue to be with me on duty and off in spirit.......I LOVE YOU BOB

There are no words to ease this very tragic death of a hero who made the ultimate sacrifice of protecting us. There is no greater love then to lay down your life for another. May god bless your family, and fellow officers.

Constable,
After many years of service, you continued to provide services to the citizens of South Carolina through your appointment as a State Constable.
I am sure that the citizens of the department you helped keep the peace with will miss your selfless service. I hope that other people, after learning about the Constable position through SLED, will follow in your footsteps and selflessly give their service as a state constable.
