Bob, We had a get together in Lincolnville to show respect to you on the 16th anniversary of your death..The turnout was good this year. The mayor said next year it will be even bigger ... As long as I'm alive so shall you be...I will always remember the good times I had with you,not only as your LE partner but as your son-in-law as well..Sure do miss those hunting and fishing trips and those Sunday lunches having fried bluegills we caught .Teresa and I are doing good..We love you and miss you..
Until we meet again and patrol God's kingdom together, may you rest in peace my LE partner ,father-in-law and friend.

Bob, Here I am again leaving a reflection on the 14th anniversary of your death..
Though its been 14 years it feels like yesterday ..
Right now you and I would be in the ricefields to do some bream fishing.
You were a good LE partner and father-in-law..
I promised you when I married your daughter that I would take care of her.
30 years later and I still am keeping that promise. She and I are doing ok and we both miss you very much.
But we know you are watching over us in Gods kingdom.
Until we meet again. Rest in peace my brother in blue.

Bob..Its me...I'm sitting here this Sunday morning think of you..
Though the years have passed my pain is still here...
When a officer goes down, I feel the pain,When a officer is injured ,I feel the pain...
I feel the pain like it was the night of 14 May 2007.
I miss you my LE partner/father-in-law...
When I asked your permission to marry your daughter 30 years ago and I told you I will take care of her
till my dying days. That is a promise I'm keeping.
I am sorry I couldn't keep the promise to your daughter that I would protect you and have your six.
God is my healer and he is working on me everyday..
I will promise you again that I will take care of Teresa and love her toll the Lord calls us home.
Then I will see you again ..
Till then say hello to my dad for me.
Love your Son-in-law and brother in blue.

Bob, Its been 13 years since you left us to be with our Lord.
Not a day goes by that I don't think of you..
Teresa and I are doing ok.
We went out to the grave and replaced you and Virginia's flowers.
I know the both of you are in Gods kingdom and are free. And I know one day Teresa and I will see you again.
I promised you as your son-in-law and LE partner that I would take care of your daughter and I'm going just that. This September we will be married 30 years.
Well Bob till I see you again my friend.
I love you and miss you.

Bob,
I patrol by the cemetery constantly but i know your with me in soul. I miss our times together and as this evening approaches it will be even harder. I call this May 14 thru may 20 my hell week, with the reflection of how your legacy fullfilled. Every day is tough. No one may ever fully understand what takes place in the minds and hearts of those willing to commit themselves to enduring harsh surroundings and challenging ordeals. Nevertheless, the, your gift of service is one that gives way to legacy, regardless of the outcome.
Never really dawned on me that you made the ultimate sacrifice during the nation police week back then. On this day Sadie and I honor, remember, and reflect. You have left behind a path that even the darkest moments cannot dampen. We offer up prayers on this day and this week for you and all the souls, along with our sincere commitment to live our lives in ways that will reflect yourr light for an entire nation to see. Love ya partner -Pro Deo et Patria-

Hey Granddaddy, sorry it has taken so long to write, but just wanted to say I miss you so much and you inspired me to become, the Law enforcement Officer I am today. Back in 2014 I attended the BLE in Blount Co. Tennessee and now, I am currently in BLE 635 at the SCCJA, for Moncks Corner Police Department as I walk these halls too and from classes, I pray you are along aside me for guidance.
As for August 7 @ 1000 hours, I ask you, as I walk across the stage you be with me, and as I start patrolling the streets of Moncks Corner, you ride along side.

Bob,It has been eight long years since you were killed and I have never went by your grave but today I said I have to go and see you, so I went by your grave today for the first time since you were buried,to ask for your forgiveness for not being with you the night you were killed. This guilt I have still hurts to this day. I should have been with you partner. I hope I can move on without the shame and guilt. You were a good friend and partner. You were also a good father-in-law, we never had a harsh word between us and I enjoyed the time we shared as LE partners and friends. I learned old school policing from you and I taught you the new school way of policing. Not a day goes by that I don't think of you. So on this eighth anniversary of your death, I want to say. I miss you partner. And one day we will patrol together again this time in Gods kingdom. Rest in peace brother.

Bob, A SCHP trooper shot a suspect who didnt have a weapon. The incident was much like yours. But the outcome was not a tragic as yours. People are already pointing fingers and playing arm chair quarterback. The trooper will most likely lose this. but I hope they use your incident to show how deadly a traffic stop is and how dangerous a driver reaching back into his car can be. Your death was not in vain,I pray that they use your incident at the academy so young L.E.O.'s dont lose their lives like you did . I still miss you very much and not a day go's by that I don't think of you. Till we meet again R.I.P. partner.

I read of you on PoliceOne today thanks to your son in law and wanted to visit your site. I am currently an LEO in Ontario Canada, and salute your sacrifice. I pray you watch over those left behind, especially your son in law as it is very apparent he feels incredibly responsible for your death. Bless you and keep you, Constable Bailey. You and your loved ones.
