It is time for you to rest my brother. Please know that many will be watching over your family as they struggle through the pain of their loss. Society will not forget you as you are now a member of those who have passed before you in the LOD. You will be remembered for eternity as thousands remember thier own losses when brought together every year. Please know in your heart you have paid the ultimate price so that others may have peace in the world. You will always be in our hearts and prayers. Take care my brother and rest easy. We will take it from here.

A POLICEMAN'S PRAYER
BROTHER WHEN YOU WEEP FOR ME REMEMBER THAT IT WAS MEANT TO BE.
LAY ME DOWN AND WHEN YOU LEAVE REMEMBER I'LL BE AT YOUR SIDE...IN EVERY DARK AND DREARY ALLEY I'LL BE THERE AS YOU SLOWLY TREAD, ON EVERY STREET CORNER IN THE DRIVING SNOW I'LL HOLD YOUR COAT AND YOU WILL KNOW.
IN PLACES WHERE THE DEVIL IS AFRAID TO WALK...
AT DOORS WHERE YOU MEET RESISTANCE...
IN HOUSES WHERE CHILDREN HIDE...
YOU KNOW I'LL BE AT YOUR SIDE.
THE PLACE FROM WHICH I NOW RESPOND IS OVERSTAFFED WITH HEROES GONE...MEN WHO ANSWERED ONE LAST JOB AND DID IT WELL.
AS POLICEMEN WE UNDERSTAND THAT THIS IS A CARD DEALT IN OUR HAND...A CARD WE HOPE WE NEVER PLAY BUT WE HOLD IT THERE ANYWAY.
THE CARD IS SOMETHING WE IGNORE AS WE STAND ON THAT THIN BLUE LINE EVERY TOUR...FOR WE KNOW THAT WE ARE THE ONLY PRAYER FOR MANY OUT THERE.
SO REMEMBER, AS YOU WIPE YOUR TEARS, THE JOY I HAVE KNOWN THROUGHOUT THE YEARS...AS THE JOB I LOVED TO DO I PRAY THAT THIS THOUGHT WILL SEE YOU THROUGH.

Lee, you always had a smile on your face, and you always brought one to mine. The University of Idaho Parking office wasn't always the happiest of places, what with parking fines and upset customers, etc., but you always saw the good over the bad, and you were a blessing to me when things occasionally got a bit wild there.
May the Lord bless you - and your family - and may you rest in peace. You will be greatly missed.

I am so sorry for the heartbreak you and the whole community must be feeling at this time of utter sorrow. I live a few counties away and it felt as if it was in my own backyard. I hate violence and all the pain it causes, not only to the victims but to the Country as a whole. Please love one another through this and I'll make sure I give mine an extra hug.

What a senseless tragedy, caused by a coward who chose to take his own life instead of facing the consequences of his actions...God bless you sir, thank you for your bravery and selflessness. I pray that god blesses and comforts your family in this time of grief and uncertainty...blessed are the peacemakers.

Officer Newbill, you were one of a few officers I genuinely enjoyed seeing on a scene as I jumped out of the ambulance -- I knew things were in good hands and that the scene was safe for me to conduct my business when you were around.
I was blown away when I heard about this tragic loss. Rest in Peace -- the City of Moscow will never be the same without you.
