I AM A WARRIOR
by Jon F. Hooper

I fight not for glory or fame,
For they are momentary.
I fight for those who can't.
I fight for Justice.
I fight for the oppressed and the down trodden.
And if I should lose my life for these just causes, then I have no regrets,
For I serve to protect the innocent.
It matters not where or when,
For evil knows no boundaries.
Be it fire, flood, or the threat of tyranny,
I will not flee.
Justice is my weapon.
Faith is my shield.
Hope is my armor.
Cry not at my passing,
For it was my Honor to fight for you.
Shed not tears of sorrow,
But tears of joy,
For now,
I stand with God.

Rest in peace my Brother, may God bless you, your family, friends and all the members of the Henry County Sheriff's Office.

Deputy Scarlett "Big Swole"
I had the opportunity to serve with you but most of all the honor of calling you my friend. You were one of a kind and will be sorely missed. They say you should leave this world a better place than when you found it, well mission accomplished. Good bye my friend it has been an honor to have known you and to have called you my friend.

"To hear your voice, to see your smile, to sit and talk with you a while. To be with you the same old way would be our fondest day. A heart of gold stopped beating. Two smiling eyes closed to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best."

Dep. Scarlett was a dedicated law enforcement officer that loved what he was doing. We were truly blessed to have him employed with us for such a short period of time. Our love goes out to the family over the next several days and months to come. Just know that we will always be here to honor the first family that was a member of the Henry County Sheriff’s Office that we lost in the line of duty. God’s strength and blessing to the family, friends & co-workers.

On Memory
When you remember me, it means that you
have carried something of who I am with you,
that I have left some mark on who I am on who you are.
It means that you can summon me back to your mind
even though countless years and miles may stand between us.
It means that if we meet again, you will know me,
and hear my voice and speak to me in your heart.
For as long as you remember me, I am never entirely lost.
~Frederick Buechner

Rest in Peace.
