Tony was a true gentleman. He loved his mom and his family. I had the privilege of caring for his Mom before she died, and we shared some great conversations. I was blessed to know him. As a wife of a peace officer, I am aware of the dangers you guys face. But I just didn't think about it everyday. Having one so close die in the line of duty is heart stopping. LIFE is precious! Good bye, Tony. See ya in heaven!!

This terrible tragedy has affected everyone in the community. I don't know the police officers, but my heart is heavy this morning after hearing of the incident. We, as citizens of the community forget how vulnerable these police officers are, and how their lives are in danger from people we pass on the street each day. They, as well as their families, make a huge sacrifice for us each and everyday. I pray for the families of these police officers.I also pray for God to help us, and to please help these people that have the hate and the anger in their hearts that cause them to do such a horrible thing. I don't know if this man was on drugs. I know drugs have an affect on people and cause them to do things they wouldn't ordinarily do. I wondered this morning if this man has children. What a horrible legacy he has left on his own family. I am crying while I am writing this letter, as I am sure a lot of other people are also. Sincerely, Marie Hitzelberger
