To Deputy Habelt: Thank you, sir, for your dedication and sacrifice...not only with this incident but all the incidents that you have dealt with.
To Deputy Habelt's family: Thank you, folks, for your support of your loved one and all law enforcement officers and for the sacrifices that you have made.
God Bless You And Keep You Close.
The Police Officer's Prayer
-----------------------------------------------------------
O Almighty GOD, Whose great power and eternal wisdom
embrace the universe, watch over all police and law
enforcement officers. Protect them from harm in the
performance of their duty to stop crime, robberies,
riots, and violence. We pray, help them keep our
streets and homes safe day and night. We commend them
to your loving care because their duty is dangerous.
Grant them your unending strength and courage in their
daily assignments. Dear GOD, protect these brave
officers, grant them your almighty protection, unite
them safely with their families after duty ends, Amen.

I saw the coverage of this story on cable news and all I can say is that it is just another example of a senseless tragedy that did not have to happen. My prayers to the family and friends of Deputy Habelt. May the days to come bring peace and understanding of why this happened. Just know that your loss, to a certain degree, is shared throughout the law enforcement community. It is my sincere hope that the killer's breathing priviliges are soon revoked!!

There are three defining persons that have willingly died for you. Jesus Christ, the US Soldier and the Law Enforcement Officer. Jesus died for your eternal security. The Soldier died for your national security. The LEO died for your personal security. As Jesus now lives, so, too, shall these two other saviours. Rest In Peace Deputy Habelt.
