Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Frank Fabiano, Jr.
ETERNALLY GRATEFUL FOR YOUR SERVICE TO THE COUNTY AND OUR COUNTRY. YOU PAID THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE; REST IN PEACE BROTHER. GONE, BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN. BYE FRANK.
R. Kuryanowicz - Retired - 066
KENOSHA SHERIFF
May 24, 2007
Frank,
You are a true hero in every sense of the word, and will be greatly missed by those that worked with and knew you. You are a hero not only in the way you lost your life, but also in the way you lived your life. A loving husband, father, son, and brother. You served your country and community with honor and dignity. You were someone that many deputies looked up to and respected for the job you did, and how you did it.
I can honestly say I never heard one person say a bad word about you, and that says a lot towards who you were and how you carried yourself. I can only hope that those of us left behind on the department can carry ourselves half as well as you did. If we do, the citizens of Kenosha County can rest easy, knowing that they are protected by hardworking, dedicated, professionals, just like you.
I'm sure you're somewhere out on the course right now, hitting every drive down the fairway, every pitch within a few feet of the pin and every putt you make is falling.
Rest in peace brother, you will never be forgotten.

It was an honor to stand next to Frank, on the few calls I went on with him, on the Deputy Sheriff's Association Board and finally yesterday as the honor guard at his funeral. Rest in Peace. You were a good man and we will miss you. Thank you for your service.

God bless Officer Fabiano and his family - I came across this poem by Jenny Peery Spouse of Officer Michael Peery ~ K-9 Officer, Anderson (CA) Police Department and hope it conveys what so many of us citizens, who never new Frank felt during these recent days. May God lift you up and may you continue to have strength - our city is here for you.
There's a reason we cried
When we heard the officer had died
The reality hit hard in the life that we live
To a job where people are asking you to constantly give
One of the finest today paid the ultimate price
And with pride and honor made his greatest sacrifice
The public has no idea on a day to day, what you went through
And how many lives you touched, the killer never knew
How you sometimes went to work, with very little sleep,
Duty and honor, a vow you must keep
And like most cops you were most likely underpaid
But it's a job you loved, the one for which you were made
To protect and serve, is how you lived your life
Our heart goes out to your daughter and widowed wife
It's a knock on the door every officer's spouse fears
And that's why today our eyes are filled with tears
Our thoughts and prayers are for the family that will be without
A father, a husband, who will be missed beyond doubt
Heaven called one of our finest home today
A price anyone who loves an officer hopes they will never pay
Lord, Watch over each and every unsung hero we pray
So they can be with the ones they love at the end of their day.

Frank was one of the first guys I met when I came to 3rd shift. He was a great friend of my FTO Pete Istavaniak. That 1st night I talked with Frank and we found out we were both 40 yrs old. He taught me alot, helped me out when I was in training and later when I was on my own.
Frank loved his new born daughter Angelina, and talked about her constantly. He taught me how to appreciate my wife and son more, telling me not to take the job home with me. God bless Frank and the family he left behind. Semper Fi

Frank, I just got back from your funeral. It was a fantastic farewell for a fantastic brother in Law Enforcement. Although tomorrow we will remove the black bands from our badges and eventually the flags will return to full staff, I will never forget your ultimate sacrifice. Thank you

Frank, as a special friend, you will be greatly missed. We had a lot of laughs together but now I cry not alone, but with everyone else that will miss you. Thank you for being a true friend and golf buddy. The three of us will miss you on our annual golf trip to the SE or SW states of the USA. We will not miss you taking all of our money on the golf course with your superb playing but we will miss you helping us win other tourneys for without out you we could not have succeded. You cannot be replaced and will forever be in our hearts and our minds. God bless Amy and Angela. Thanks good buddy I miss you very much.

As I was out for a walk today with my dog, I paused along Washington Park and watched as a fallen hero slowly passed. My heart goes out to his family and friends. May God bless you all and keep you safe.
Although I never knew Deputy Fabiano, I want to express my sincere appreciation for his service to Kenosha and our country. I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank all police officers, who put their lives on the line every single day. Thank you.

Quietly they go, the intelligent, the witty, the brave . . . ”

You were well loved judging from the amount of supporters at your memorial this afternoon. Thank you for all you did and stood for.
Thank you to the KSD also. You have the unimagineable task of starting your shift knowing Frank is only there in spirit. I wish you all peace!

Althought I did not know you, I'm guessing you were a wonderful Deputy, father, husband and friend, judging from the support I saw today. So many work to preserve our peace, and you and all that you stood for will be remembered.
I would also like to offer condolences to the entire KSD. You have that great task of taking the streets nightly knowing Frank will only be there in spirit. Thanks for all you do!

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you wake in the morning hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starlight at night.
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there, I did not die!
Thank you for the ultimate sacrifice.

I had just returned to Wisconsin from Washington D.C., after volunteering to work at National Police Week, when I heard the tragic news about the loss of our brother officer. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends and co-workers. I hope that the community will rally around the police and show some support, whether by words or deeds. I will be volunteering at Police week in 2008 and want to offer my assistance to the Fabiano family and the Kenosha County Sheriff's Department when they arrive in D.C. to honor this brave fallen officer. I can be contacted at (414)940-2048 or (414)378-3642. Meanwhile, please be safe out there!
