The policeman stood and faced God,

Which must always come to pass.

He hoped his shoes were shining,

Just as brightly as his brass.

"Step forward now, policeman.

How shall I deal with you?

Have you always turned the other cheek?

To my church have you been true?"

The policeman squared his shoulders and said,

"No lord, I guess I ain't,

Because those of us who carry a badge

can't always be a saint."

I've had to work most Sundays,

and at times my talk was rough,

and sometimes I've been violent,

Because the streets are awfully tough.

But I never took a penny,

That wasn't mine to keep

Though I worked a lot of overtime

When the bills got just too steep.

And I never passed a cry for help,

Though at time I shook with fear.

And sometimes, God forgive me,

I've wept unmanly tears.

I know I don't deserve a place

Among the people here.

They never wanted me around

Except to calm their fear.

If you've a place for me here, Lord,

It needn't be so grand.

I never expected or had too much,

But if you don't I'll understand.

There was a silence all around the throne

Where the saints had often trod.

As the policeman waited quietly,

For the judgement of his god.

"Step forward now, policeman,

You've born your burdens well.

Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,

You've done your time in hell"

My heart aches for the family, friends and coworkers of Frank. May he look down from heaven and know that he made a difference in this world by the way he lived his life.

I will hug my husband a little longer each night before he leaves for work and say an extra prayer for all the officers protecting our streets while we sleep soundly in our beds.

You patrolled the streets of the town of a friend of mine. When I read where you patrolled and where you were killed I was shocked. Reading those who have left a message I read you were a bowler and a golfer. I hope that you bowl a 300 and hit a hole in one in Heaven. God Bless you brother.. No words can express our feelings... Prayers to your dept. and family.

Your funeral begins today. As your family, friends and citizens pay their last respects to you, know you are a hero.
To the family of Det. Fabiano - the road ahead of you is long and hard. Take the hands of those next to you and let them support you. To his wife - let those that care for you pick you up and guide your steps and when it seems you can't take another step, let Jesus carry you.
I know how hard the road is, for I too have been in your shoes. There are no words to ease the pain, there is no justice. Rely on the one in heaven to comfort you and your precious daughter.
Don't be afraid to ask for help and always know, Frank will NEVER be forgotten. No matter how much time goes by, he will always be remembered for the hero that he was ~ not for how he died, but for how he lived his life.

Frank aka The Cobra,

I am sitting here on the eve of your funeral, patrolling the same streets that you once patrolled. I can't stop think about you and your family. You were and will always be a great family man, great leader, great FTO, great golfer, great cop, and great friend. I have to say it was a great honor to be able to work with you side by side for the past 4 1/2 years on the streets of Kenosha County. You have taught me a lot about how to do this job and have help me mature as a young deputy. I am not going to lye, but it has been hard to come to work lately. Knowing that you are going to a better place. Our third shift tabs aren't the same without you sitting at your table in the back right corner picking on us younger deputies and messing with Ray, Bob, Dave and Mark. I have to say I miss you at tab and always calling me Danny McCanny. I know that you are patrolling the streets of heaven and playing the golf courses up there already. I know that you will be watching over us as we respond to our calls late at night and watching our backs. I know that you will continue teaching us younger deputies and rookies as our guarding angel. I want you to know that Amy and Angelina will be taken care of, for that they are and will always be part of the KSD Family. You were and will always be well respected and highly looked up too around here at the Kenosha County Sheriff's Dept. Continue being our guarding angel, watching our six (backs) and our guiding light at night. I hope to someday be able to patrol the streets of heaven side by side with you once again and someday play the golf courses of heaven with you. You are and will always be missed. God bless and rest in peace. Semper Fi!
