It is truly admirable that you were responding to assist another officer before this tragic event occurred. Being that Lakewood is a small department, you all have to watch over one another more than most departments. I'm sure Officer Preslar was always looking over his fellow officers and his family. He will continue to do so from above. God Bless...........

I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. There are not enough words to tell you how I grieve for you. To Officer Preslar's wife and children I offer my prayers and love. I know first hand how difficult it is to lose someone so tragically. I lost my son to a crazed gunman and my life is forever changed. I miss him so much. To the parents and brother of Officer Preslar let me just say thaat I know how your hearts are broken. Be proud that you raised such a wonderful son. I wish I could put my arms around you and give you a hug. May my God give you strength for the trying days ahead. To Officer Preslar's fellow officers I want to say I know you are hurting too. As so many others, my heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family, friends, department and community in regards of the loss of Officer Preslar. His manner of passing is a testimony to what kind of man he was-while responding as back up on a call, he swerved to miss hitting a deer, lost control of his cruiser and collided with a tree. Officer Preslar showed compassion for all...though he leaves so many behind, he joins an elite force always watching over us.
