My heart goes out to Cpl. Bruce McKay's family during this difficult time. I couldn't imagine what they must be going through at this time. It kills me to know that such a senseless tragedy has taken a father from his daughter. No child deserves that.
I would like to thank him for doing his job and protecting the citizens of Franconia. He will be forever remembered in all our hearts.

I am just incensed and outraged that about some people's comments and actions regarding the murder of this officer. I cannot belief that a USA olympic skiier had the nerve and audacity to contest a citation in order to "antagonize" this officer. Nothing but filthy scum would see that shooting an officer and running him over with your car is justifible. And then some politician attempting to keep local firefighters and/or police from honoring this officer in that town is absolute disrespect. I read all of this on 5-17-07 at 1600hrs on aol.com news and I am sick in the stomach that we have "human beings" that act in that manner and make those comments. God Bless ofcr McKay and that USMC marine who did the right thing by using deadly force on the suspect. I worked 16 years in LAPD in los angeles,CA. and I just cannot believe how some humans in society live their lives.

Corporal McKay,
On behalf of the men and woman of the Leominster Police Department, are prayers are with your family during this extremely emotional time. I can definitely say that being at the funeral service touched the lives our members, especially reflecting on our own families and more so our children. God bless your daughters soul. I pray god gives her the strength to continue on with her life, and to be able to smile and even laugh at the memories you two shared. Thanks for being one of us and thanks for doing a fine job for the citizens of Franconia. God bless!! Rest in Peace!!

There are some people whose faces, when you look into them, you know they are people of dignity, grace, integrity and purity. Corporal McKay is one of those people. The blessings and perseverance he brought to the community were not only kind and sincere but, also, brave and true. We can only say THANK YOU. God takes care of the rest.

God bless you brother ! May your family be comforted knowing that I and most every law enforcement officer in this country is now part of an extended family to them. Rest easy.
**Thank you to the Citizen who tried to help, a truly unfortunate situation for Cpl. McKay and his family not to mention the pressure you are going through. Citizens like you are a breed apart, many would have just driven by. You are commended for your actions. You are a true HERO as well as Cpl. Bruce McKay! New Hampshire's motto is appropriate for the scum bag who shot Cpl. McKay and pointed the gun at you. He took a life and freedom that goes with it,,for he is dead... forever running from the hounds of Hell.

Corporal McKay, You did your job the way you were trained. You left this world a HERO.
I want to say to his daughter and fiance, that no matter what may be said, he was a HERO, he did what he had to do as a Police Officer which is hard in a small town, but that's what makes this country civilized. Just remember that he loved you, and that he will be watching over you. God Bless you.
