May God bless and comfort the family and friends of Officer Buckman. May he welcome into the kingdom of Heaven another hero, and may he pass along the thanks of a greatful community and country. Dear brother's and sisters I saw the devastation that was left behind from this tornado first hand. Officer Buckman saved lives and didn't even know it. He did this because he wanted to not because he had to. More citizens of Greensburg would have been killed if not for Office Buckmans actions that night. He stayed true to the code,up to the day he passed. God bless his family and all of the officers who responded to Greensburg KS to assist in the cleanup effort. God Bless

"Greater love has no one than this than he lay down his life for his friends", John 15:13. I sat in horror and watched coverage of the tornadoes that evening. I was so glad that it was not in our area and wondered if I could leave my family and go to warn others of the impending danger. I sat there watching as my wife said "Im so glad its not here or me and the kids would be so worried about you,, I know you would be out there trying to help".

Tim, I didnt know you, but Im sure you did your job for all of the right reasons. Its a often thankless job here but im sure God will reward you as you walk a beat on the streets of Heaven. I just ask that you look down upon us all and instill that courage that youve shown to us all. I look forward to meeting you one day on the streets of gold, heck maybe God will even put me in your squad.

May God bless and reward your family for the sacrafice that you made so that others may live. Thank you for being there and giving yet another example of bravery, honor and self sacrafice for the rest of us to try to live up to. I hope that I may somehow show the honor and values that you portrayed to us all on the day of your last watch, Tuesday May 8th, 2007.

Sincerely
Deputy Eric Holcomb

Police Officer Tim Buckman,

This is to you and your family. I want to Thank You for watching over the citizens of Kansas. My Aunt and two cousins live in Witcha, though I rarely get to see them living in Michigan, I know that there are Officers like you, everywhere in America that will put aside their own safety to help save the lives of others. To your family my prayers are with you.

Growing up and living in Kansas, I know all too well that tornados can be devastating. This one was huge and it is only by the grace of God that more people were not killed. Officer Buckman braved one of the worst weather conditions imaginable to warn others so that they may live. He is a true hero. May God bless you and our family, and may God be with the family, friends, and officers of the Macksville Police Department. Also, may God bless all the families dealing with this disaster. Thank you for your service sir and may you rest in peace.
