Reflections for Police Officer Robert Buckman

From the report I reviewed, Tim was the epitome of law enforcement. To go into harm's way to protect others is a tribute to his character. On behalf of our agency (Rice University Police Department, Houston, Texas) our condolences to his family. As a law enforcement trainer, I will use his courage and valor as a model for other officers.

Stay safe, stay strong,

Officer Buckman, I heard about your tragic death this morning on our local news station. My heart ached....You did a truly heroic deed. There are many people who owe you their lives. Some may never know what you did for them. Others will come to know in time. I'm a stranger to you and your family, but I'm no stranger to the pain your family and friends are experiencing today due to the loss of their loved one and brother. I'm so proud of you and others just like you who value life so much that you are willing to sacrifice your own to save them. May God Bless you and your family. And may he help your wife and children through their grief. Heads will be held high and hearts filled with pride for you, a true hero! Please say hello to my beloved son. You'll know him for he too died a true hero....
