Gama,
The news hit so hard; I still can't believe you're gone. I think everyone is walking around in shock and utter disbelief. I will miss your smiling face, your silly jokes and your crazy emails when you're board, working overtime at the court ("what are you doing?") always trying to pump me for information. My heart breaks for your family, for your partners and for everyone at East Los -- past and present -- who had the privilege of working with you and whose lives are forever touched by simply knowing you.

I had the honor of being Raul's godson. I was deeply sadden to hear the news of Raul's death. He has always been a good friend and role model in my life. My thoughts are with his family during this difficult time. He was a great Sheriff, great father and loyal friend. His integrity, goodwill, and loyalty should serve as an example of what all men should strive for. May you rest in peace godfather. You will be missed.
