Reflections for Police Officer Lisa Renee Ligda-Beaulieu
I was schocked to read of Officer Beaulieu's senseless death as I had just spent a week in Beaumont visitng a relative. It was my first visit and I enjoyed the town and was impressed with the high visibility level of the BPD.
To all who knew and loved Officer Lisa Beaulieu, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I lost my twin sister 11 years ago. She was an officer with the California Highway Patrol. She too was only 36 years old, and, she too was killed in an automobile accident on a Friday. I am here for you!

Kory,
Don't beat yourself up. Lisa is at rest and you can't change things. Just learn from her life and do the best you can. We all have people we work with that we give a hard time. Sometimes it makes them better officers, makes them think. Whatever your relationship with Lisa, I'm sure she knew you loved her no matter what. There are some of my co-workers I would never call my friend or go so far as to say I even like them. But I can say I truly love them all and would grieve for them if they were to die. And I know without a doubt they feel the same for me. Hindsight is always 20-20, but life is not. Lisa is now watching over you. Make her proud.

I lost my father, Dominic R. Verdi Sr. to a traffic accident 21 years ago. He was the Chief of Narc. for the parish, Plaquimines, (county) he live in. I know what it is to loose a love one in law enforcement. My thoughts and prayers go out to Lisa's family, co-workers, and friends. She now patrols the streets of heaven. May God keep and bless you Lisa, and may the good you did in life and service you gave never be forgotten.

Today like most days, I read the pre-shift broadcast during shift meeting. I try to make shift meeting as much fun as possible. However when it comes to a subject such as this notification I try to stress the Officer safety issue as best as I can. May you rest in peace my sister in blue. God Bless you, your family and the entire Beaumont Police Department. Thank you for your service to protect the great state of Texas. Keep protecting us all as you now serve as a guardian angel to us and as you walk the streets of gold.

It is with a heavy heart that I write this. It is sad to hear of the loss of any peace officer but especially so when it hits so close to home. Not only were you an officer but you were also a fellow dispatcher. I pray for your brothers and sisters at Beaumont PD, your friends, and your family members. May you watch over those left behind who still work the streets keeping us safe.
