David,

We had a wonderful ceremony yesterday to dedicate your memorial. The stone is absolutely beautiful. Isabella knew it was your photo almost instantly. What a wonderful little girl. Take heart that we will keep watch over her and Barbara.

You will live on in the hearts of many people.

It was my honor and privelege to meet several members of the Brinkerhoff family during the Trooper's Tour at Police Week in Washington. I hope you can take some comfort in knowing that your brothers and sisters with the Delaware State Police mourn your loss, and share your grief. Tpr. Brinkerhoff's service and dedication will never be forgotten, even by those of us who were not fortunate enough to have met him.

I attended the memorial in DC yesterday and it still makes me sad to think we even have to say your name. It was a true honor but not one you should have had to make. The NYSP was an incredible presence and they were all there for you and your family. I think of you often and hope all is well with your family.

David,

It has been a year now and not a day goes by that I do not think of you, Barbara and Isabella. Many wonderful people came out on Friday to remember & honor you. I had the privilege of meeting your Mom; what an incredible lady.

Seeing Isabella getting so big and walking and her infectious smile makes everything I do to honor and remember you worth it.

It is almost a year ago that we lost you. Much has changed in that year. I truely miss your smile and laugh when you came into our shop. You could made me upbeat and could change a bad day into a great day. I wish I could have done that for You, Barb and Izzy. I salute you, #4531

It's really easy to forget about good friends when you know they are a couple hours or states away, it's easy to loose touch taking for granted you'll run into them at home around the holidays, but knowing for certain I won't run into you again breaks my heart. I think about you lots and all the stuff we used to do to as kids, and miss you more than ever. I hope your family is pulling through and finds comfort in knowing what a great guy you were your entire life.

David,

Spent most of today listening to old video footage of the day we lost you. While I never knew you, I have had the honor of meeting Barbara, Isabella and Rich. What a wonderful family. I think of you almost daily and hope that Barbara & Isabella have made it through another day.

The memorial stone arrived last week and is in Vermont for the etching. Looks like sometime this Spring we will all be together to honor you once more.

My thoughts & prayers are with your family each and every day.

Always remembering #4531.
