It is with sadness that we bid goodbye
To a trooper now on the beat in the sky

You will be missed by one and all
For you stood faithful to the call

May God open His Arms and take you in
To a place safer than where you've been

God bless you sir. May God look over your family..and give them the courage to face this world of evil. God is in control of us all. We sometimes want answers and there are non, we sometimes want revenge and get non. The hurt and anger digs deep into our inner souls....and the we breathe and realize.... God has it all under control. May God bless you.

To the wife, daughter, parents, extended family, friends and the colleagues of Trooper David Brinkerhoff, I offer my most sincere condolences.

I lost my 29 year old NYS Trooper brother in 1961, and it still seems like yesterday. It is never easy to understand why one so young, has to be called home so soon.

I will offer my prayers for your family and all those who have been touched by your life...may God bless them as they look for the strength they will need in order to carry on without you at their side.

May God's perpetual light shine upon you and may you rest in His eternal peace for having made the ultimate sacrifice in protecting and serving your community.

You will not be forgotten by the many survivor families who visit this site daily in the hopes of not seeing another named added to the roll...we will keep you in our thou
ghts and prayers.

God Bless you.

With my deepest sympathy,

Anita L. Culosi

Trooper Brinkerhoff,
You extended your heart when fellow officers Lieutenant Finn (Albany PD) and Patrolman Verteramo (Schenectady PD) both fell in the line of duty, and now you join these fine officers, patrolling with them on the streets of heaven. You were called to heaven too soon, and our world is not as safe without you being a part of it.

I know you as a man of honor, integrity, and class; a gentleman in every possible way.

I am proud that you are joining some of the finest officers who have ever been called up by god. Say hi to Patrolman Verteramo- tell him he is missed and thought about every day- as you will be.
Rest in Peace Brother,

Sgt. E. Clifford
Schenectady Police Department and Marist College MPA Program

Trooper David C. Brinkerhoff made the ultimate sacrifice doing what he believed in. The Policeman’s Prayer has a line….”Lord I ask for courage, courage to take me where other will not go … And, please Lord, through it all; be at my side.” May the guardian angle always watch over his wife and child.
