In the significant amount of time I have spent in South Bend, I have had the great pleasure of meeting many of the fine Officers that comprise the Police Department that serves and protects the city. Without exception, every single Member of the Service that I have encountered has been a true law enforcement professional, and I was greatly saddened to hear of the loss of Corporal Polizzotto. He is a hero and his sacrafice should long be remembered. Know that my thoughts and prayers are with both the Polizzotto family and his brethren officers at the SBPD during this dificult hour.
