Thinking of you and all of your loved ones today as I know it is a hard day to get through, but they are all hard. I know your parents would trade places with you in a heart beat as I would do the same for my son so that you could both be here with your children to be there for them. Continue to watch over all of your loved ones, protect them from harm and help them with their grief. You will never be forgotten.

Thinking of your loved ones today and everyday. I know the daily struggles they face without you and the terrible pain within their hearts. God, wrap your loving arms around them and help them with their grief and let them feel your presence.
Your sacrifice has not been forgotten.

Brother,
While I did not know you we shared the same passion and career. I was checking this site due to a possible move to South Bend. Over my career I have been involved in and seen many friends and colleagues meet with the same fate. Only cops understand what we go through. It can't be explained unless you live the life. I hope the community you serve realizes what a valuable asset you and your brother officers are. Rest in peace.

Hey Dad! How are you doing? Well, I can't get over the fact that you're gone, but I keep you in my memories and prayers. I've heard a lot of memories about you from people, memories that were from before I was born. I've had a few crazy and whacky dreams with you in them, which are very realistic. Remember that day when I first went Trick-or-Treating at your newest house? It's Trick-or-Treating time again, and I'm going to be Freddy Kruger!

hey buddy!!! how's it hangin'?
i am missing you everyday, and i recently found a mood ring that you gave me, back in '05 and i haven't taken it off since expect for going to sleep and taking a shower. i also made a white chain to put the ring on (cause white represents purity and courage) so take care of yourself and if you see my grandma, tell i said hey xoxo

Hey Nick-Nick!!!
last night i was watching an episode of csi, and one of the detectives was shot and he died. then i heard the jordin sparks song no air. all of those things made me think of you and your sacrifice that you made and i just lost it, and i started thinking about the good times. playing golf with you, goofing off with you in your squad car, and playing tennis and you beating me to a pulp. i really miss you that. well nicky picky, got to go to class. lots of love from me and my family

hey baby boy! (lol)
august 4th we had a real bad storm, and i started crying and saying that i wish that you weren't dead and then i saw a funnel cloud i freaked out even more ( i even recited the whole hail mary prayer), and then my little cousin said something very funny, he said "i think nick is mad" and that really had me cracking and i thought that you wouldn't want your tennis buddy upset lol. i saw your song on may 25th at the chs graduation and him and i are friends now i even promised him a pack of doublemint gum cause he beat me in a ( quickie) arm wrestling match he is so cute. well i miss you, and i wear your name on my wrist everyday i think the bracelet is trying to break apart, but i will fix it well love you nicky!!! stay fly up there in heaven

I miss you man. I could not believe it when I heard the news at first. It completely floored me for a few moments. We didn't spend much time together, but you always had a smile and a hello. I will always remember that.

Nick:
It's been over a year since you were taken from us so suddenly and so senselessly. Sometimes, I think its just a bad dream and we'll all wake up soon. I went to the candlelight vigil that SBPD held for you on your anniversary. There were so many people there! It was a true testament to how many lives you touched.
While most people knew you as a great cop and a devoted Dad, I will always feel honored to have known you first as a friend. You were a true and loyal friend, which makes your loss even more painful. In so many ways, you were one of "The Good Guys".
Your mom introduced Shakespeare to so many of us over the years. There i one quote from Shakespeare that will always remind us of you:
"When he shall die, set him among the stars
and he will make the face of Heaven so fine
that all the world will be in love with night,
and pay no worship to the garish sun."
Godspeed, my friend!
