That was the sweetest letter from your grandchild. You
have left quite a mark on your family and friends. I'm
looking forward to that concert in Heaven. I LOVE
country music!! Although physically you weren't prepared to leave earth, I'm grateful that spiritually you
were ready. So sorry your service to your community
was cut short. God bless those who mourn for they shall be comforted by the Lord Himself.

To the family, friends, and officers that knew Constable Jones, my thoughts and prayers are with you as you face the trying times ahead of you. Please know your not alone.

Here I am, lost in the light of the moon that comes through my window
Bathed in blue, the walls of my memory divide the thorns from the roses
It's you and the roses

Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way when I see your eyes
Now I'm living in your afterglow

Here I am, lost in the ashes of time, but who wants tomorrow?
In between the longing to hold you again
I'm caught in your shadow, I'm losing control
My mind drifts away, we only have today

Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way
I will sacrifice 'til the blinding day when I see your eyes
Now I'm living in your afterglow

When the veils are gone as I let you go, as I let you go

Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way, I will sacrifice
Now I'm living in your afterglow

Bathed in blue, the walls of my memory divide the thorns from the roses
It's you who is closest

Hi. My name is Brooklyn Pedigo, and i am 12 years old.

Ronnie Jones is my grandpa. He was the best grnadpa he could be, at least that's what i thought. We had lots of memories together and every one of them were special. I remember when i was little me,my mom, and my dad lived in a trailer beside his and my grandma's. When we came home in the afternoon, i would always run down to see my "Nanny and Papa". I also remember when my "papa" used to come down and "kidnap" me, for an hour or two, or maybe the whole day and night. I spent most of my life with him, since my mom and dad own 4 restaraunts, and most of the
time they both have to work, me, my brother, and my sister would always go to our "Nanny and papa's". Those 3 days were "the days" of the week for me. So, i practically lived with him while he wasn't serving the community. He was like a second dad to me, and i loved him very much. He had a very big heart. Even when you were having the worst day of your life, you could come to papa's house and he would make you feel like a million bucks. I remember another time when my Maltese dog,, Elvis, was at home by himself because we were at my moms restraunt, and my papa came home before we did, and when we got there papa was sitting on the couch playing with him. He made me smile alot.

He liked to sing karaoke at my moms restraunt on fridays and saturdays. Everyone loved to hear him sing. The Mccoy family ecspecially loved to hear him sing. I couldn't wait until Fridays and Saturdays, just to hear my papa sing. Some people say he sounded like Merle Haggard. And he did. Maybe even better. He used to sing and play his guitar at the "Music Barn". A lot of people remember him from there. My whole family really misses him.
My dad even knew him before he even met my mom. My grandpa always used to say " I fed him a can of chicken noodle soup and he stuck around". That made me smile. I also liked when he told me stories about when he was little. Like the time when he shot my great-aunt (his sister) Paulette with a BB gun in the ear.
My papa liked to watch western shows all the time when i was there. I never liked watching them but sometimes i just watched them so i could sit with him on his couch. I liked it when he would chase me and my sister around the house with a fly-swatter. When it was all done we all just laughed. Me and my papa always found something to laugh about. Even when i did something wrong he would forgive me and give me a big ol' hug.
There is more i could tell you about my papa but i would be writing for months, maybe even years.

Ronnie was one of those that if you ever met him, you never forgot him. All it took was one second for him to make you remember him forever. I never in my time of knowing him seen him frown, he always had that smile on his face "That Ronnie Jones smile" I believe he could make the saddest person in the word laugh. He was always Joking, always laughing, and he was always the one that got the last word, no matter who he was talking to or what they were talking about.

And did he ever have a voice, that man could sing Merle Haggard better than Merle Haggard himself. I can recall goin down to Beaver Creek Music Barn when I was around 12 and I always asked if it was Ronnie Jone's band. I loved to here Ronnie sing, and I can hear him now teaching the Angels "Silver Wings" That was my all time favorite song to hear him sing.

He was a great man, my grandfather thought alot of him and Boy did Ronnie love Pa's sausage. Every time I saw his name on the sausage book for that sausage I knew he'd be coming right along with Jeff most of the time.

Now I've got to know his family, and I can say that Ronnie did no wrong in the way he made and raised Tammy, How he Loved Diane and how he cherished his grandchildren.

Just by being a close friend to him he taught me alot, made me smile, made me laugh, gave good advice, and even taught me a few things about singing.

Ronnie You will be missed and You are Loved. I will never forget you. Sleep peaceful now in the arms of the Lord because now You have "Silver Wings"

I will see you in Heaven!

To Tammy, Diane, Brooklyn, Morgan, and Zeb I am here for all of you, I love you all dearly. If you need anything I'm only a phone call away. God Bless

To the family and loved ones of Constable Ronnie K. Jones and his fellow officers with the Barren County District Two Constable's Office:

On behalf of our family, I want to extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Constable Jones was tragically killed in the line of duty. His valor and dedication will never be forgotten.

In reading the loving reflections, it is obvious that Ronnie was an amazing man who touched many lives in a positive way. I can see that he is so loved and will be missed by so many.

The circumstances of his death were heart breaking and I know caused much anquish for all those affected. I know that the lives of everyone who called Ronnie beloved have been forever changed. To all his family, I pray that you find comfort in your faith, each other, your family and friends as you struggle with this devastating loss. May you be embraced by your law enforcement family and other police survivors who share this journey with you.

May Ronnie's spirit continue to soar and his memory continue to inspire. May God hold Ronnie and his family in the warmest part of his heart and the most gentle part of his soul. Heaven has another hero today.

Our family lost our cherished Larry when he was ambushed and fatally shot during a foot pursuit of two robbery suspects on April 23, 2005. We were supported and comforted by the brotherhood and sisterhood of law enforcement, and that wonderful community will be there for you. Nothing takes away the pain of your loss, but the comfort of the law enforcement community will help you endure what will seem at times unendurable.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the distinquished service Ronnie gave to his community and the citizens of Kentucky, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on April 2, 2007.

To Constable Jones' Wife
I am so sorry for your loss
You do not peronsonally know me and
I don't know you but, we are connected
by being the wives of men who loved their jobs
lived their jobs, breathed their jobs
and either died in the physical sense
or died inside emotionally doing the job

And even given the sad ends to both of our mens
lives or lives as they knew it...I don't think they would trade it for another job in this world
It takes a special soul to do what our men and all
men in the law enforcement do
You should be proud- very proud

God Bless you all

We would like to thank each and every person sending their condolences and for your prayers for us. He will be greatly missed by us, not only us but the whole community. We only wish that you could have had the chance to know him. He brightened everyone's day with his smile and laughter. Since becoming constable he wore his uniform with pride. Everyone in our community knew him and knew that could count on him if they ever needed him for anything. We know he is in a better place, he was close to God and had no fear of dying. We just were not ready to give him to God yet, but it was not our choice. Thank all of you again for your kind words, prayers and support. We wish we could thank each and every one of you personally. GOODBYE HUSBAND, FATHER AND PAPA, WE LOVE YOU AND WILL SEE YOU AGAIN SOME DAY.
