I can't begin to express my grief for the family of Officer Clark and Shelton. I was awoken early this morning by a cell phone that wouldn't stop ringing and now the lives of many people will never be the same. The endless tears and friendly words of condolence will never be enough to replace what these families have lost nor our community. I pray that the sacrifice these two officers made will not be forgotten by the citizens of Charlotte because I know that this world is a better place because of them.

No family should ever have to go through the pain of the loss of a loved one due to this kind of tragedy. I am sure when they find the scum that is responsible for this incident he will have some fancy lawyer talking about how tragic his childhood was or how his parents didn't hug him enough when he was little. It is my sincere hope that true justice prevails in this case because this morning I am just simply mad. Mad because another fine officer lost his life due to some scumbag that isn't worth anything and is simply a waste of good oxygen. I am mad because another officer's family will have an empty seat at the dinner table forever and all the lost dreams and hopes for years to come. I am mad because another police officer had to die. Officer Shelton you are a true hero in every sense of the word and you are one of the reasons that I am proud to be a COP!! My prayers to the family because words will never be enough to ease your grief. Just please know that every officer in the Charlotte area grieves with you this morning. God bless and be with you in the days to come.
