The profound moral committment to keep the world safe draws courageous men and women to the front lines of a dangerous occupation. The noble cause embraced by warriors throughout our great country has tragically ended with the death of a hero. We will carry on in memory of our brother warrior Daniel Martinez, and will hold his family, friends, and his department in our hearts, minds and prayers.

All of our prayers go out to this fine officer's family, and most especially to his wife and children.

Rest assured that as I lead the service in my congregation today your name, Daniel Martinez, will be mentioned and we will pray for everyone that lived, loved, and worked with you.

"I heard a voice from heaven, saying unto me, Write, From henceforth blessed are the dead who die in the Lord: even so saith the Spirit, for the rest from their labours."

I have been here in the past leaving condolences for officers/families of departments across the nation, but couldn't imagine leaving one for an officer of my old department. It broke my heart when I heard the news the other night, but the first thing I did was pray for Danny and his family.. I will keep them in my prayers as well as all fallen officers and their families.
Thank you to all the individuals and departments across the nation who come to show their support in times like these.
Your watch is over Danny and there are many proud souls to have known you. God bless you and thank you.

Sometimes you get the bad guy and sometimes he
gets you.
The shot that killed you also killed a part of us.
It killed a part of your family, both at work and at home.
It killed your dreams, your hopes, your future.
But it must not kill our determination to make this
world a better place or our will to make a difference.
America's streets must be running red with blood with
all the deaths of leos. Every time I come here to leave
a reflection, I feel like my words get emptier and emptier. I am truly sorry for your loss...a loss too great
for words.

I was on a ride-along when we got the call. I hope FSPD and any other agency never has to go through this again. He was a good man, and a good officer. We shall all miss him greatly.

I read this story and it made me cry. You died helping a woman get her baby back from an ex. Something we've all had to do at least once. We thank you for all you've done and for protecting us. God bless.
