Reflections for Officer Daniel C. Martinez
To Officer Daniel's family:
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. We recently lost a police officer on my husbands department and we are often on this website. It is very shocking the cruelty in this world and how many brothers in blue we have lost. I wish there was something I could say or do to help ease this burden but I know it will be a long hard road ahead for you all. I am horrified that this has happened to your husband, and to know that five children have lost their father due to selfishness and immaturity. Please know that your family will always be in my prayers.

I retired six years ago from the FSPD after thirty years of service. During my career, three of my fellow officers died in the line of duty. I have always prayed that another officer would never meet his death while protecting and serving the citizens of our community. We never put on the uniform thinking it will happen to us but we know it could happen at any time. My prayers go out to the entire family of Officer Martinez. I did not know him but I do know that only the best men and women serve on the Fort Smith Police Department. God Bless Officer Martinez and God Bless the other 160 officers and their families of the FSPD. Believe me when I say, Officer Martinez may be gone but he will never be forgotten.

When a brother officer falls, we all feel the heartache and pain. When it's a local brother, the pain is even deeper, espically for those of us who have been down this road before. Our thoughts and prayers will be with the family and fellow officers who worked along side Daniel. God Bless All Who Serve.

I have been staring at this page for several minutes and I'm finding it hard to find the words to express my sorrow. The tragic death of Officer Danny Martinez is not only felt in our community, but throughout the law enforcement world. I know he will always be in our hearts and minds. Brothers and sisters in law enforcement do not let his sacrifice be forgotten. Continue to serve and protect knowing we have another angel watching over us. Be safe.
My deepest sympathy to the Martinez family. Danny touched alot of lives in the communities he served. He will be greatly missed. The men and women of the FSPD are praying for you. God bless you.

Danny, I say this prayer every day before work. I pray for the safety of my brothers and sisters in blue. I wish I could have been there for you, but God wanted you to help guard the gates of Heaven. Your Saint Michael's troop now and every time I say this prayer I'll be thinking of you. Rest in Peace Brother and I'll see you when it's my turn to help out up there.
Police Officer's Prayer to St. Michael
Saint Michael, heaven's glorious commissioner of police,
who once so neatly and successfully cleared God's premises
of all its undesirables, look with kindly and professional
eyes on your earthly force.
Give us cool heads, stout hearts, and uncanny flair for
investigation and wise judgment.
Make us the terror of burglars, the friend of children and
law-abiding citizens, kind to strangers, polite to bores,
strict with law-breakers and impervious to temptations.
You know, Saint Michael, from your own experiences
with the devil that the police officer's lot on earth is not
always a happy one; but your sense of duty that so
pleased God, your hard knocks that so surprised the
devil, and your angelic self-control give us inspiration.
And when we lay down our nightsticks, enroll us in your
heavenly force, where we will be as proud to guard the
throne of God, as we have been to guard the city of all
the people. Amen.

"A Letter From Heaven"
To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say.
But first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from Heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; Here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I am with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through
God picked me up and hugged me and he said,'I welcome you.
It's good to have you back again, you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, They'll be here later on.
I need you here badly, you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.'
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night the days chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....In the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years.
Because you are only human they are bound to bring tears.
But do not be afraid to cry: it does relieve the pain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
If I were to tell you, you would not understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is over.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you, and many hills to climb;
But together we can do it by taking one step at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you to;
That as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain;
Then you can say to God at night...."My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented...that my life was worthwhile.
Knowing as I passed along the way I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low:
Just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go...from that body to be free.
Remember you're not going...you're coming here to me.
I will always be with you!
Another officer taken from us so early in life, and by someone who had no value of another persons life....and then took his own life.
Words will never ever be said that will lighten the sorrow that will be felt by Officer Martinez' family and all who knew him.
We will keep you all in our prayers and thoughts during this tragic time and of deep sorrow. You will know that this Officer did the job that he loved and put his life on the line 24/7.
This makes no sense to me at all. The man that shot Officer Martinez...did he have such a hate for law enforcement or to the ex-girlfriend of his brothers that he shot them?????????
Only God knows the answer and we know that Officer Martinez is with Him and is doing a beat in Heaven.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL
