Your heroism and service is honored today, the 66th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.
Rest In Peace

Most people today don’t realize the importance of those kerosene lamps referred to on your Officer Down page. My grandfather was a Police Officer
In Bangor Maine during the 30’s and 40’s
One of his jobs was making sure the (smudge pots) remand lit along roadways under construction. If the lamps ran out of kerosene or were tipped over they had to be replaced to allow a warning of the dangers existing. They had no flashing lights, reflective signs or big orange cones at that time. Thank you sir for the sacrifice you made for the citizens of Havana.
