To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 77th anniversary year of your death. I am privileged to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service.

My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace

As a young boy growing up in South Louisiana, my mother, Elvige Deslattes Clouatre, would always tell me the story of your death. Although you died almost 30 years before I was born, my heart would hurt every time I heard that story. My heart still hurts to this day every time I think about it. I am your Great Grandson. My mother is the daughter of the late Annette Rousselle (your daughter) and Emanuel Deslattes.

After more than 70 years, you are finally getting honored for your dedicated service and the ultimate sacrifice you have made.

Now, as I tell the story of my Great Grandfather, I can say that your are honored on the Officer Down Memorial Page website and the fact that your name has been engraved on the National Law Enforcement Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. (Panel 53, E-25) as well as a tribute.

Rest In Peace,
Love,
Your Great Grandson
