Rest in Peace Trooper...
Lieutenant
Genesee County, Michigan
March 26, 2007
Todd,
I never had the opportunity to meet you, but to say the least, I'm proud of you for all the service you provided for the Citizens of the Great State of Texas. You represented one of Greatest Law Enforcement Agencies in the world and proudly wore the red patch. You are in a better place now, watching over your loved ones. Thank you and your family for the sacrifices you made and you will never be forgotten.
To the family of Todd: He wore the uniform with pride and served his friends, neighbors and the Citizen's of the Great State of Texas and the United States proudly. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Thank you for supporting Todd and remember that as brothers and sisters that wear the uniform nationwide, we are here for you shall you need anything.
God Speed Todd!!!!

Many of us did not get the chance to meet Trooper Holmes but he left a great impact on our lives. We sometimes forget how short life can be and Trooper Holmes was taken much too quickly. He was a good man and had a good soul. To his Wife and Children, they will always have an extended family with The Texas State Troopers as well as the many Police Depts and Sheriff's Offices. Law enforcement is a brotherhood. May he rest in peace and may the families be at peace. He served his Country,State, and Community...

I just heard of Todd's passing today and although we only knew each other as childhood friends it's hard to hear about a brother in law enforcement passing. I will keep my memories of time spent with you at heart and pray for your family. God bless them and you peace keeper. May we meet again in heaven...

I just can't imagine being in your shoes...being the mother of 3 children with one on the way. I can imagine the task of raising them by yourself must feel impossible. One Day At A Time...with GOD. Your best
friend left too soon. I have a daughter his age who is
also expecting. My heart goes out to you, believe me.
I know you have many wonderful memories of your
sweet man and they will carry you through all the dark
times. Lean on the Lord for He cares for you. He is
faithful and will see you through until your family is
reunited some day. My heart goes out to both of his
families.

To The Family:
As soon as I heard the news about Trooper Todd my heart dropped. I did not get the chance to meet him, but the feeling of losing a husband is all to familiar. All I can say is to just let God watch over you! When all those people say they are praying for you, it has to be true, or else I wouldn't be able to go on! May God Bless You all during these impossible days!

Todd,
Even though we never had a chance to meet we are still brothers. I ask that you look over all of us on watch, guide us and continue to protect us, because that is what God needs Troopers in Heaven to do. Todd you have the watch up there we have it down here. Rest in Peace.

Aloha Trooper Todd Holmes,
Thank you for your service and dedication to your community and your country. You and all officers that continue to lay your lives on the line and pay the ultimate sacrifice to keep our communities and country safe, will NEVER be forgotten.
I personally pledge, (after one of Hawaii's own Honolulu Police Officer Steve Favela, lost his life last year in the line of duty protecting our Commander in Chief, President George W. Bush), to become a continuum; a sacred keeper of the ODMP light. That sacred light is in the form of an ODMP tribute. People from all walks of life, regardless of age, race, religion, profession, education, and geographical location can share here.
This "LIGHT" comes from within the heart and soul of every person who shares their memories, stories, and celebrations on behalf of each and every fallen officer. Every fallen officer is a hero. The ODMP; Officer Down Memorial Page gives us a place to come together and share our feelings as one family. As we read the many heartfelt tributes left behind, may we find solace as we give solace to the families who have lost a loved one. May we build upon love and faith knowing that this “bridge of tributes” will carry each and every one of us through the pain and sorrow until we meet with our beloved one again.
Trooper Todd Holmes,
as we say in Hawaii, “You are`Ohana.” “You are family.” You are embraced as our own family member. No one will ever be able to replace you for you were unique and very special. No one, not in this lifetime. May God Bless you and keep you. May God allow you to rest in peace. I wish you, your loved ones, and your fellow officers peace and love beyond all understanding. I HONOR you today. You will NEVER be forgotten.
--“Your life is much more important than you can imagine.” -- Maya Angelou
** May this Hawaiian prayer give all those who read it comfort. **
THE PEACE OF " I "
KA MALUHIA O KA "I"

Dear Holmes family, I had the pleasure of working with D.P.S Troopers when I lived outside of Houston,Tx back in the 80's. I can only say that I never had the pleasure of working with Trooper Holmes, but did work and ride with his fellow troopers from time to time, I can only say they were all cop, To this day I tell my friends how proud I was to have been able to work with such fine men, Todd looks to be a model Trooper and I'm sure he'll be sadly missed by his brothers. God Bless your family and friends, Regards Richard & Family

Todd was awesome; he never hesitated to help anyone with anything, it wasn’t rare that he was fixing my car after commuting to Plano from Canton and back all of this after spending a full day working on other people’s cars. He was swift to help and slow to speak although when he did choose to say something he did so with a kind and thoughtful manner. He was a remarkable man who loved and respected God, Stephanie, Tyler, James, Jason and Jocelyn with all of his heart. I’m glad to know that Stephanie and her boys are so loved by everyone who has the privilege to know them; my sister Stephanie is an extraordinarily strong woman and an absolutely wonderful mother I’m so sorry she lost her best friend and confidant, Stephanie’s love for Todd in no way died with him last Wednesday please keep her and all of Todd’s family in your prayers. God knows we’re hurting please ask for His comfort and peace.

My heart is saddened at your loss. You spent many hours with our family when our son Jimmy was in the hospital in May 2005. You, yourself was also hurt that day, May 19, when Jimmy was lying in a coma, fighting for his life. He lost that fight, but you were there with many encouraging words to say about Jimmy. My life was made better for having met you. I will be there for Stephanie and the kids if she needs me, she knows that. If it is possible, I hope you gave my baby a big "Bubba" hug when you saw each other. I love you Todd.
