Reflections for Auxiliary Police Officer Yevgeniy Borisovitch "Eugene" Marshalik
We offer our heartfelt sympathy to the family, friends and colleagues of Officer Marshalik and we honor his distinguished service to the cause of justice and peace. Sadly, our nation has lost one of its finest citizens, a community has lost a friend and protector, and a family has lost an example of character and courage who they will love and respect forever. Today, because of the sacrifice Officer Marshalik has made, the house of freedom is stronger, sturdier, and more secure.
To the family and friends of Officer Marshalik, I would like you to know that a lot of people pray for you, and my hope is that their prayers will give you the strength necessary to move on. Just as you were always with him when he walked the beat or patrolled the streets, know that he will always be with you - wherever you may be. In the days to follow, may you be strengthened by the fact that Officer Marshalik is a man distinguished by exceptional courage and will always be admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities. You, your family and your sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Brother,
Rest in peace knowing that the inhuman scum that took your life no longer walks on this earth. Your brothers at the NYPD took care of this when he tried to kill them and he was slain for his actions. Your dedication and courage in helping others in evident in your walking the beat as an unarmed auxiliary officer. You and your partner showed great courage in following the suspect so that he would be held accountable for his actions. Condolences to your friends and family at this difficult time.
Walk the beat in heaven and we will continue the fight down here on earth. God bless you.

Eugene, You are indeed a hero.......you are a POLICE OFFICER! I have a son that is just a little older than you; he wants to be a Police Officer and is currently taking tests and studying for the job, so as you can imagine this hits close to home.
Your sacrifice will not be forgotten. Look down upon us from time to time, and kinda keep an eye on my son. You and your family will be in my prayers. Rest easy my brother, we'll handel the tour from here. God Bless
You are now clear to go 10-7

To the family, friends, and officers that knew Officer Marshalik, my thoughts and prayers are with you as you face the trying times ahead of you. Please know your not alone.
Here I am, lost in the light of the moon that comes through my window
Bathed in blue, the walls of my memory divide the thorns from the roses
It's you and the roses
Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way when I see your eyes
Now I'm living in your afterglow
Here I am, lost in the ashes of time, but who wants tomorrow?
In between the longing to hold you again
I'm caught in your shadow, I'm losing control
My mind drifts away, we only have today
Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way
I will sacrifice 'til the blinding day when I see your eyes
Now I'm living in your afterglow
When the veils are gone as I let you go, as I let you go
Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way, I will sacrifice
Now I'm living in your afterglow
Bathed in blue, the walls of my memory divide the thorns from the roses
It's you who is closest

R.I.P. Brother!! You will not be forgotten, You are a hero to all of us!!!!
Not often enough do we thank those who serve to protect us
Not often enough do we realize their jobs are dangerous
Not often enough do we think of their families that they leave each day
To serve and protect and keep our own out of harm's way.
Not often do we acknowledge these men and women in blue
Not often do we just walk up to them for no reason and say thank you
But when a tragedy strikes our own community and one of our own has fallen
It is a most grievous crime, from us; one of our own was stolen
Their commitment to their job is unparalleled to our own
And while we are at work or with our families at home
They are patrolling the streets and at any moment could pay the greatest price
The price that sometimes comes with the job, the price of the ultimate sacrifice
For your sacrifice, 34th Pct. auxiliary unit thanks you.
And to your family our prayers and may God Bless you
And may God keep safe all the brave heroes who choose to wear blue
Our families are safer because of you.

I was very shocked and saddened to hear about this incident last night. It just shows how dangerous the work of NYPD is, including auxliaries. I just wish people would recognize the work of the members of the NYPD that keep our streets calm.
Thank you for serving your community
May you rest in peace
