Reflections for Deputy Phillip Michael Deese
I always listened to Mike (and Sonja, LOL) on the radio, and helped him a few times when he needed a "female search". I remember every time I got out with him how impressive his work was... competent, professional, and always confident. The lowcountry has lost a great one....

In loving memory of Deputy Mike Deese:
You knew Jesus personally and that blesses me greatly as I know I will meet you face to face one day and be able to thank you for your sacrifice. There is none greater than Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We don't get to Heaven based on what we do, but by the
sacrifice He made on the cross for our sins. AMEN! Thank you for your fine example to those that worked with you and knew you. There is now a huge
void that cannot be filled, but as you are remembered, thoughts will turn to your exemplary life and we will be filled with pride and respect and love for the man you became. You were a wonderful testimony to the Lord you served. God be with all those who mourn and may His promises lift all those with heavy hearts for many years to come. I am reaching thru this computer
and giving a big HUG to your sweet widow, your children and your family, both at home and
at work. I wish I could erase your pain, but it is God-size and He's the only One up to the task.

Our family first had the pleasure of meeting Michael when he was just 15 and was picked to roll us out of the hospital after the birth of our son. That was 23 years ago and we always remembered that special day. He was a very caring, compassionate individual. He had the chance to do many jobs but the one that was the special one he chose was police work. He made a great officer because he truly cared for the better of mankind. I am sure his love of animals was the reason he chose to be K-9 specialist. We are all better because we had the chance to be a part of his life and him ours. We are also better for those of us who only found out about this wonderful person after his leaving. Now we all know that there is another life after this because of the swift way in which they were taken out of here. No long drawn out sickness. No sitting for days in waiting for the worse. No pain to endure for weeks, months, or years. yet not we all see how fast it can be time for any of us. Learn from what this man and his K-9 taught us , live each day as though it were your last and be ready when called. That is what they did right up until the watch started in another place where he will get to see all of us from a different view. Thanks for the memories and thanks for deciding to make our place easier to live in. Much love to your family and I pray for peace in their lives.

Mike these boys need you now, watch over them and keep them safe. You have left a huge void in the sheriff's department but we couldn't ask for a better lookout from up above. The county won't be the same without you.

God speed brother. It is so great to hear that he is buried with his partner, a K-9. That shows me that the relationship they had together was very heartfelt and sincere. I pray for the family to get through this hard time. Rest in peace friend.

I Met Cpl. Deese once or twice while on a ride along once. he seemed like a good guy and as i've found out in the past few days is that he was one of the most proffesional deputies out there. He was one of the big supporters of the cadet program and while he never came to a meeting was always asking our cadet advisor how we were doing and how we did in the state competition. If i had a chance to see him again i would say thanks. thanks for being a deouty and putting your life on the line to help others, and thanks for caring so much about your fellow deputies and the cadets. you will be greatly missed by the Sheriff's office.

We never can know when it's our time to go,
we simply work and wait our turn.
We do our best to pass the test,
and our own wings of gold to earn.
Now that you're wrapped in God's loving Grace,
and the new assignment you know.
Watch over your loved ones and your 'family of the badge',
And greet us when it's our time to go.

The Monument
I never dreamed it would be me,
My name for all eternity,
Recorded here at this hallowed place.
Alas, my name, no more my face.
"In the line of Duty", I here them say;
My family now the price to pay.
My folded flag stained with their tears;
We only had those few short years.
The badge no longer on my chest
I sleep now in eternal rest.
My sword I pass to those behind,
And pray they keep this thought in mind.
I never dreamed it would be me,
And with heavy heart and bended knee,
I ask for all here from the past;
Dear God, let my name be the last.
