My heart aches for your friends, family and department. I know you died doing what you loved and what you were meant to do. I also know that your family will forever miss you. I know you will watch over your fellow brothers and sisters in blue. Be secure in the knowledge that they will watch over your family.

Our brother is gone but he has left behind an example of bravery and courage under fire that we will not forget. To the many who have left reflections for Deputy Carper thank you from all of us who worked with Kevin and will miss him. Here we are again at the news of another brave officer who gave his life in the line of duty. Another person who gave no value to another human being's life. It was suppose to be a regular traffic stop...right... These days there are no regular traffic stops. It is horrible to have to read of another officer down. Our hearts are torn apart.
"A Part Of America Died,"
Somebody killed a policeman today,
And part of America died.
A piece of our country he swore to protect,
Will be buried with him at his side.
The suspect that shot him will stand up in court,
With counsel demanding his rights.
While a young widowed mother must work for her kids,
And spend many long lonely nights.
The beat he walked was a battle field too
just as if he had gone off to war.
Though the flag of our nation won't fly at half mast,
To his name they will add a gold star.
Yes, somebody killed a policeman today,
In your town or mine,
While we slept in comfort behind locked doors,
A cop put his life on the line.
Now his ghost walks a beat on a dark city street,
And stands at each new rookies' side.
He answered the call,of himself and gave his all,
And a part of America died.

To the family, friends, loved ones and all who wear the badge of law enforcement...we send our prayers, and hope in days to come, they will be of some comfort to you all.
Right now there isn't any words that can say things to ease the pain, or to make the heart any less broken.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL

My thoughts and prayers are with the family, friends, and fellow officers of Deputy Carper. I was watching WYFF this morning and saw the news about Deputy Carper's death. Your death hits close to home here in upstate SC. This is just another example of the war on crime that we continue to fight here on the homefront.
May God look after you Deputy Carper. You are a true hero and will not be forgotten.
