There is a place, I have been told, Beyond an open gate. All have been invited Where friends and loved ones wait. It holds eternal promise of everlasting peace No pain or sorrow ever comes And teardrops there have ceased Abundant life is evident Constant, fresh and new A garden of provision With Eternity in view. The promise is awaiting A place we can abide Fullfilled for all who answer The call to come inside.

Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you, your family and the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office.

Almost 2 years ago I lost a friend Alex Burdette in the line of duty and now I see where another hero from the upstate has been taken from us. To the Spartanburg Sheriff's Office please know that my entire family will be praying for you. To Deputy Carper's family please know that even though your loved one is no longer there in the physical sense he will be there in spirit and in love. It seems that everyday another name is added to this list "Well done thy good and faithful servant"

Sometimes you get the bad guy and sometimes he
gets you.
The shot that killed you also killed a part of us.
It killed a part of your family, both at work and at home.
It killed your dreams, your hopes, your future.
But it must not kill our determination to make this
world a better place or our will to make a difference.
America's streets must be running red with blood with
all the deaths of leos. Every time I come here to leave
a reflection, I feel like my words get emptier and emptier. I am truly sorry for your loss...a loss too great
for words. Thanks for having such a good aim in spite
of your wounds.

You will never be forgotten brother in blue. Rest in peace, you have done your time in earth. May you look down upon us from heaven and keep us safe. You gave the ultimate sacrifice for that we will continue to keep the streets of America safe.
For the Carper family, words or making sense of your loved one's death is unexplainable. God has the answers, for that he is in good hands with him. Take care of one another and be strong, you have long days ahead. You are not alone, we all suffer and hurt.
