God bless your loved ones, both your immediate family and Police family. Even though these are sad times for your friends, family and brothers in blue. Know that they are truly thankful for every day, hour, minute that you were in their lives. Know that they will continue to think of you every day. Weather it brings to them a smile of happiness from a fond memory, or a sorrowful tear.
Your watch will never end.
Thank you for choosing to serve and protect, and for putting your life on the line for the safety of others. Thank you to your extended police brothers and sisters whom continue to serve and protect.

To the family of Sgt. plouff, I am so sorry to hear of your tremendous loss. I know that I can never take away the hurt you feel, but know that my family and myself keep you in our prayers in this time of need. This is a sad time when the evil takes the life of one of our warriors, but know my brother we will continue the fight here, while you will forever be at our sides as we patrol our beat. Rest in peace your sacrifice will never be forgotten. Job well done, you've done your time in hell now you will walk the golden streets.

I would like to send my condolences to the family of Sgt. Plouff. Rest In Peace My Brother.

Somebody killed a policeman today,
and a part of America died.
A piece of our country he swore to protect,
will be buried with him at his side.
The suspect that shot him will stand up in court,
with counsel demanding his rights.
While a young widowed mother must work for her kids,

The beat that he walked was a battle field too,

To loose a friend who you worked with daily is so like loosing a family member the smiles,laugher and friendship gone in a moment at the hands of a coward who never knew what the word serve meant.Over the thirty years I have served I have lost many friends to the evil on the streets we patroled. But Sgt Plouff knew what it meant like all of us still here know and the other fellow officers we lost over the years.God bless his family and each and everyone of you as you go into a world no one else will to serve and protect.

To the Plouff family, I feel your pain. I know well, the worry of seeing your husband leave daily for work, as my son is a Sgt. with the Virginia Beach P.D., as his dad also has retired from Long Beach P.D. At the same time, I feel pride, and knowing they do what they do, for the love and dedication. I'm so sorry for your loss. I teared up this evening when I left my house a few minutes after seven. With approximately 25 houses in our development, I counted 17 porch lights on, honoring Officer Plouff. My light was on, and as my son suggested, I have a candle with a "blue" light in my window. God will help you through this trying time. Officer Plouff, rest in peace, sir, and thank you.

On behalf of our family, I want to extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Sgt. Plouff was murdered in the line of duty. His valor and dedication will never be forgotten.
In reading the loving reflections left by family and friends, it is obvious that Howard was an amazing man who touched many lives in a positive way. I can see that he is so loved and will be missed by so many.
The circumstances of his death were heart breaking and I know caused much anquish for all those affected. To his parents, I share your agony in losing a cherished child and know that the lives of everyone who called Howard beloved have been forever changed. To his wife and daughters, I pray that you find comfort in your faith, your family and friends as you struggle with this devastating loss. May you be embraced by your law enforcement family and other police survivors who share this journey with you.
May Howard's spirit continue to soar and his memory continue to inspire. May God hold Howard, his wife and daughters, and his other family members in the warmest part of his heart and the most gentle part of his soul.
Heaven has another hero today, but how I wish it were not your Howard.
Our family lost our cherished Larry when he was ambushed and fatally shot during a foot pursuit of two robbery suspects on April 23, 2005. Our family was supported and comfortd by the brotherhood and sisterhood of law enforcement, and that wonderful community will be there for you. Nothing takes away the pain of your loss, but the comfort of the law enforcemenr community will help you endure what will seem at times unendurable.
This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the seventeen years of distinquished service Howard gave to his community and the citizens of North Carolina, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on February 23, 2007.
