My visit here today to honor your service on this fifth anniversary of the E.O.W. Your dedication and service will not be forgotten. I was present during the National Fallen Officer Memorial in 2008 with our fallen deputy's parents, and it sure doesn't seem so long ago. May God continue to bless and watch over your family, fellow officers, and friends.

Howard we still miss you amongst us. We proudly stood guard at the Police Memorial today to mourn your loss. Every officer wore a black band on their badge in honor of your dedicated service. Many of us remarked that we could not believe it has already been four years. You are definitely not forgotten. We continue to pray for your beautiful family. I am sure you are so proud of how they have carried on.

I saw the piece of WXII last night about Howard's tree in Lewisville and thought that it was beautifully done!
I think of you all daily.
May you have warm thanksgiving!

To Mrs. Plouff:

I was trying to research the trial status today and ran across an article describing the legislation which granted the well deserved and justified pension benefits for your family. I alm grateful for all those who fought for these benefits for your family. The family suffers enough burdens without having undue financial concerns.
You and your family and Howard's friends are in my thoughts and prayers today.

My son Larry Lasater was murdered in the line of duty on 4/24/05 while serving as a Pittsburg (CA) police officer. Larry was born in Durham.

Howard, thank you for your service to my home state. Rest In Peace.

Phyllis Loya
mother of fallen officer Larry Lasater

Two years may have passed and to some it seems like only yesterday that you were here but to others it has felt like a life time since they saw your smile, felt your warm touch and heard your laugh. Continue to keep watch over all of your loved ones and protect them. You have not been forgotten.
