You are a hero. I pray for your family during this most difficult time. May they find comfort knowing that you died while protecting the citizens of Toledo.

A Police Officer's Prayer
Lord, I ask for courage --
Courage to face and conquer my own fears...
Courage to take me where others will not go...
I ask for strength --
Strength of body to protect others,
and strength of spirit to lead others...
I ask for dedication --
Dedication to my job, to do it well,
Dedication to my community, to keep it safe...
And please, Lord, through it all, be by my side.

To the family, friends, and officers that knew Det. Dressell, my thoughts and prayers are with you as you face the trying times ahead of you. Please know your not alone.

Here I am, lost in the light of the moon that comes through my window
Bathed in blue, the walls of my memory divide the thorns from the roses
It's you and the roses

Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way when I see your eyes
Now I'm living in your afterglow

Here I am, lost in the ashes of time, but who wants tomorrow?
In between the longing to hold you again
I'm caught in your shadow, I'm losing control
My mind drifts away, we only have today

Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way
I will sacrifice 'til the blinding day when I see your eyes
Now I'm living in your afterglow

When the veils are gone as I let you go, as I let you go

Touch me and I will follow in your afterglow
Heal me from all this sorrow
As I let you go I will find my way, I will sacrifice
Now I'm living in your afterglow

Bathed in blue, the walls of my memory divide the thorns from the roses
It's you who is closest

I know too well what the family and friends of Keith Dressell are going through. My friend, Jared Jensen, was killed in the line of duty one year ago tomorrow (Feb 22, 2006) out in Colorado Springs. I find it very sad that someone in my home state had to give their life so close to that anniversary. No doubt there are rough times ahead for everyone who knew Keith Dressell, but please remember there are so many people all around the world who appreciate what these men and women in blue do for us every day.

Detective Dressell - Thank you for your service, and you will not be forgotten.
