Reflections for Detective Keith Dressel

Missing you so much. The holidays are so hard, and it doesn't seem to be getting any easier. This is the time of the year that you loved so much. I know it was because Christmas fun is for the kids, and I know hoow much you loved the kids.

Had some rough moments, and wouldn't you know it, one of the songs that you wanted played at your funeral came on the radio. Dad and I sat and cried. We had to go into a building, but instead just sat in the car and listened. We know you were with us.

We lost an officer in Cleveland, TN and his funeral is today. Seeing all the vehicles gathering in preparation for the procession today brought back a flood of memories. It's been a very emotional morning. Prayers are his family...and ours today. Love and miss you Keith.

Hi Keith,
It's been over five years and today is your birthday. Not a day goes by that you are not missed. Hope you are seeing Noah. Just last night I called him Dirtyboy Jr. I would say more, but I have been talking to you through prayers and I know you hear me. Happy Birthday Keith. Love, Danielle

A Mass was said for you today on your 41 birthday at St. Anthony's. Dad and I went to the cemetery, put flowers, a balloon, candels, and a card at your headstone. We sent you our love via the Angels. Love you Keith. Mom and Dad.

We miss you so much. For this 5th anniversary of your being taken from us, we did something in your name to help others. Knowing that you were so big on giving blood, we had a blood drive in your name. We wanted yuur doing good for others to continue. In 5 hours, 43 units were given. There were probably 20 or so that could not give. Keith, you saved another 129 lives.
We had Noah last weekend. We watched family videos. We went to the Prelude for St. Patrick's Day party at church. There was a live Irish band. Noah wore a cap that was green and beads. He had a good time. He likes watching the intruments being played. I just love that little guy. He does things with his mouth just like you.. His eyes dance just like yours.
Thank you for the messages. I alwys know when you are near. Love Mom.

Keith,

In 24 minutes it will be exactly 5 years since the event that ended your life and changed our lives forever. This day hurts . . . every year. You are loved, you are missed and the world is a better place because you were here.

This is our fifth Christmas without you. Noah is getting so big. We gave him a guitar, and hope that he is interested in music as you were. I think that he is very talented in the arts. Canyon brought his guitar. He played and sang for us. You would be so proud of your God-child. You would be proud of all of the kids.
We have hung our 5th candy cane, from your stocking, on the goose neck. Dad and I are having a difficult time this Christmas. We are so sad. Trying to get a bit chipper for your sister, brother, and their families. We all miss you so much. Christmas was you and your love of children, and that was what made it fun for all of us. We try, we just try.
Love you, Mom

So many memories of your funeral were brought back this week. Another officer in our area was killed. How sad that another family has to feel this pain.
We went to the cemetary to clean up your winter decorations for spring. Looking at your headstone, reminded me of how handsome you are, how loving and caring too. Miss you so much.
